Neil F. Use the diagrams in the ade link forr the correct wire to cut and install a simple switch. You can do it yourself.

sparky Not dumb, that would be a "kill switch". A lot of people use them. It's a low cost thieft detterent, does not stop them all together, but it's another tool.

A number of ways to do it, cuicuits to interupt.

Don't make the switch obvious. Switches usually don't go bad if they are lightly loaded, but know where it is so you can grab and splice the wires to bypass it.

Starter Kill

My friend that runs an audio shop said he can install a switch or something that must be engaged in order for fire to go to the starter. Basically i you dont flip the switch etc you cant start the Jeep. Cheap theft deterrant as my Jeep spends most of its time with the top off...

-Thieves....if they want it, theyre gonna get it but does the switch idea sound useless? Like maybe use the rear wiper switch rather than an easily identifiable aftermarket switch....my concern if the said switch goes bad I might get stranded myself...
