Just wanted to swing by and write up a quick testimonial on these Engo winches. I bought one from Chris a little while back and I have put it through its paces whether it be submerging it in water for prolonged periods of time or burying it in mud, it has seen it all. Among some memorable moments of using it to rescue myself and others well over a dozen times, I would like to share one in particular.
We had a Florida 4x4 ride on saturday and the Land Cruiser show in the picture had made it through some impressively messy trails until it came upon an overheating issue. In attempts to cool the motor real quick to get back to pavement, it dunked into what at first glance was a shallow stream but ended up having no hard bottom and full of muck.
We hooked up my 10k synth line engo winch through a snatch block and anchored my little YJ to a f250 diesel, an XJ Cherokee, and a ZJ grand cherokee. Believe it or not, the Engo at first pulled all four of us towards the land cruiser. (Yes, it pulled 4 vehicles with a snatch block) everyone spin their tirea a bit to dig in and we kept pulling, this time we didn't move and the land cruiser slowly was inching its way up the embankment dragging the entire river bed with it. Once it was high and dry, we had to maintain tension on the line to keep the land cruiser from rolling back in while the motor issues were worked out (wet distributor, go figure... lol!).
The winch showed no signs of stalling and the line showed no signs of fray or weakness from prolonged tension. I couldnt be happier and no could the owner of the land cruiser! I highly recommend this winch, at this time I have zero negative comments on it.
To get the full picture, here is how big the Land Cruiser is sittin on 39" tires:

|preterpan||Do these winches have the same bolt pattern as other winches I am looking at bumpers with our drilled winch holes and wanted to know if it would work|

Can you give me a quote on the 9000# with no winch line and no fairlead but with a cover and wireless remote shipped to 60010.
I received a S**ttybuilt winch for my birthday 3yrs ago and I've used it maybe 4 times and its already broke. I decided while stuck on The Carnage Trail at The Cliffs Insane Terrain, that its time to look for a new winch, it really stunk to keep having to crawling across my jeep because the lever to engage the drive gear kept popping out of gear. I wish I would have known about this winch 2 years ago.

I have a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara with the 4" Pro-Comp lift along with the 35" Pro-Comp tires. With a stock bumper what would I require in terms of work to get a winch installed? I would probably wait a few months before ordering something as I need to get other things installed first such as a hood lock. At this time I am interested in what would be required for ENGO PF12000S Winch to be added. Do I need a totally different bumper and then a mount plate followed with the winch?
I am in Calgary at this time. T2H 2J8 if you want to quote me what it would cost for the required components and then I can make a budget for the future.

|Bubb||Nevermind, called the WA Engo customer service number and got it sorted out. Apparently some e10ks winches are color-coded correctly, but the directions show the wrong wiring. Can't believe I talked to a real person on the first ring!|
|11-08-2013 01:02 PM|
|Bubb||Correction: it feeds from the bottom.|

|Bubb||Or should I unspool and respool in the opposite direction? (feeds from the top now)|
|11-08-2013 11:47 AM|
Chris, got the winch installed today, thanks!
Question though: I installed the wiring per the instructions, but the directions are reversed (in is out, out is in). Would fixing this be as simple as swapping the red and black connections on the top of the motor (leaving yellow alone)?

|Bubb||Chris, sent you a PM about a winch.|

I appreciate the time you spent working on this with me this afternoon. I'm disappointed we won't be able to do business on these parts, but hope to be able to do business on a winch soon.

I called again today to check on my order status and was told your information from last week was incorrect and my parts wouldn't ship out 'til next Wednesday at the earliest. They're also apparently unable to do a partial shipment of some of my parts that are just sitting there.
This is extremely frustrating since I was originally told 7-10 days, and we'll now be approaching 8 weeks! Every time I call my ship date gets pushed out. I realize the issue is with ARB, and if Jeep Add-Ons had originally told me it'd be 8-12 wks that would be one thing--but I was told 7-10 days. Seems like some checking could have been done upfront before taking my money. If I knew it was gonna take this long I would've gone another route.
If there's any way you can help I sure would appreciate it.

Order from Chris - Installed on jeep next afternoon...
Thanks again man

Chris, thanks for your help yesterday in figuring out my order status! I look forward to getting my bumper parts to get ready for a winch in the future. Wish they would have been here in the 7-10 days I was originally promised (by a different salesperson), but better late than never!
My advice to anyone ordering Jeep stuff from these guys: talk to Chris, he really knows his stuff.
