|MOPWR2U||Just letting you know, the front axle housing on these JK's can be bent quite easily with high speed offroad use. Ask Teraflex if they bent any when developing their prerunner suspension. Reinforcing the front axle prior to those high speed runs you have planned may be a good idea.|

I would like to see it done to a new JKU, and I'm not discouraging you. But, you can build up a decent beater to haul ass off road and keep your nice JKU Jeep for the slow technical stuff and daily driving.
Lots of XJs out there doing mild to wild "Jeepspeed" builds. The whole idea behind Jeepspeed is kind of a poor man's Dakkar / grass roots racing deal (at least in the 1700 class).
Maybe check 'em out.

|JGreer||Teraflex built a Pre-Runner for desert runs. They have a two part video on Youtube. Just search Teraflex Pre-Runner. They sell a suspension made for these types of trials but it isn't cheap. If you really want to run it fast throw that suspension on it and drop a Hemi or a supercharger on it.... Other than that, these rigs just aren't built for speed.|

Anyone Set Up Their JK for Speed?
I like driving fast off road even better than crawling. Nothing serious, just weekend fun. I built a Ford Focus and a 2wd Ranger for fast dirt road work and they were a hoot to play rally racer with.
I would like to do some fast work with the JKUS. The suspension feels pretty good, but it feels like there is a lot amount of unsprung weight. The Goodyear SR-As are no good as they are passenger tires shouldn't hold up against punctures. I blew one out in my first quarter mile of gravelled logging road at only modest speed.
However they only weigh 36 pounds and a suitable tire of the same size is going to weigh quite a bit more.
I found that even with my light weight standard cab short box 2wd Ranger that standard shocks would overheat and quit working properly in short order. I would think this would be an even bigger issue on the heavy Jeep.
Anyone already been down this road?
