Summer & Tops down
Well, the weather has not been great in VA. Fair piece of humity & high temps & rain. Thank g. for a 2nd vehicle. But 2010 Jeep Wrangler top been down since 1st week of March & the doors off since last week of March. Have been caught 3 times in heavy rain since March. Had to remove all the carpet & seats to dry it out.
Last time was a road trip through SkyLine Drive starting from the south end & driveing norther all 105 miles of it. Got caught in the rain again. This time thoough put top up but didn't put the windows in. 2 days later I had dry carpet. Darn rain. The wife didn't apperciate the shower in the Jeep either. Too bad.

|DallasJKU||I missed the spring here in Dallas which is the best weather. Fall will be nice but it rains more during the fall. Summer is way too hot here for me so I have had the top off for about 10 days total.|

Rain is awful this year but I run the same set up all Summer. Just add a duster for rain and open the sunrider on those perfect days.

|flipmeover||This is how my Jeep has spent the summer... working in the rain|

|chopperbobby||Not great. Lots of pop up showers all summer. Keep having to run out during work and put the top up. Got tired of that so I just leave it on.|

|Happy JK||Wish rain was predictable in PR. It could pour on one side of the island and sunny the other. Between the sun and rain, good idea for a bikini or safari top|

I'm thankful the AC is fantastic in my JKU. Strong blower and it's ice cold.
A cold front is coming through, I'll wait until it does and go topless.

|cannonballgsu||Guess I'm just odd. I'll ride around in 100+ weather with the top down and doors off.|

|Hmcostello||LOUSY!!! The weather in north east Florida has not been great. I have the top down a lot but I only take the doors off if the chance of rain is low for about a week. Love my 2010 unlimited but dealing with 4 heavy doors is a lot harder than my CJ-8 when I use to take off the doors and just throw them in the back.|

So now it's just wicked hot. I saw this on my way home yesterday!!!!
Worst of all, my spiderweb shade has yet to arrive. Hot day to be stuck in a traffic jam...

|Scottbod||Great now that the rain has let up in FL. Installed the Trektop and am able ride with the doors off and safari up top so I don't get fried.|

I've only had my JKU for two weeks, but the first week it rained, and this week it's been HOT. Over 90 every day, almost 100 today, and fairly high humidity. Needless to say I've only had my freedom tops out twice.
I ordered a spiderwebshade today though and plan on rigging up a hardtop lift when I get home. I'm taking the top off this thing even if I have to sweat!

That has to be the most common mistake made by soft top owners on the JK. There are a hundred threads on the subject...she isn't making the extra "90 degree" turn to tuck the "L" into the door channel. Pretty much everyone makes that mistake at first.

There are some videos of solo people removing them with no help but then it shows them dropping it as they attempted to get out of the Jeep.

|cannonballgsu||Rain, rain, and more rain here in the southeast. I normally just pop the windows out so that I'm covered if it does start to rain. If the chance is 40% or below, I'll take the top off. 10% or lower, I'll take the doors off as well.|

Sorry, didn't mean to go off topic but I don't want to insult the woman by asking whats wrong with her side sections

|ninjaturtle0||was safari only since mid May and I finally had the top back on due to rain... we need it though we get low water levels etc from the heat.|

Plus the 4 door JK's are often used as SUV's by a different group of buyers.
My friends (now ex) girlfriend purchased a JKU a few years ago and never took the top off, not even the freedom panels.

If I had to remove it in a big hurry I imagine it could be done in about 5 minutes. I usually take my time, have my wife help and it takes us probably a little over 10 minutes.
