I painted mine with duplicolor, looked great till i decided to tape them off while painting some other stuff. a lot of it peeled off when i took the tape off.
So don't waste your money on duplicor if you paint em. I'm probably going to redo them with the rustoleum bedliner when I have time, I used that stuff on my wheels and it's holding up great.

|YJ Jeep Freak||I used a propane torch and just heated them a little. I bought Xenon flairs and the kit uses the stock pieces by the steps. The new was really black that it made my old parts look gray. I took the torch to the old pieces and it made it shiney to match the new pieces.|

I've used the Back to Black on my DD in the past but one thing i noticed is if you stop using it the fading seems to come back worse. It may just look worse since you've had it nice and dark, but done every wash it does do nicely.
For flares i would give them a coat of paint. Ive used the bumper coating from Advance auto several times. Painted all the plastic flares and bumpers on two older Nissan Frontiers with a buddy several years ago and they held up good. Also done the flares on my yj, just get them really clean then a couple light coats getting heavier each coat. I actually bought the bumper coating for my jeep at Walmart and it did just as well.

|JeepRay||Another thing to consider is Renew (I think that's what its called). My co worker has a Honda element and her plastics were looking pretty rough. She came in the other day and her car looked brand new. She said it actually dyes the plastic as you clean it. Think I'll try it soon.|
