Evpjr Just a quick reminder. After you replace the water pump, t-stat, hoses, and radiator, pressure cap, make sure you "Burp," the radiator, while refilling it.

LIJeepLyfe10 I had the exact problem i brought it to my friean who is a mechanic and he says it was the water pump he replaced that and the radiator. I pull into my driveway after bringing it back from the shop to my engine steaming and burning hot coolant leaking from many places. It is now only leaking when the car is turned on. im very confused thinking maybe the freeze plugs but i have no clue at this point. any help would be much appreciated.

Coolant leak on shut down

If it only leaks when you shut it off, it's probably your water pump. As long as you're in there, replace your hoses and belt, check your fan blades and clutch, and replace your coolant, unless you know it's good. Thermostat is a solid plan too, although probably not what's leaking.

mikemounlio I cant see the base of the water pump but im gonna start with water pump and tstat. I hope that solves my problem.

The coolant on the backside of the block looks like its just running down the lip of the oil pan. I can see the coolant dripping from the bottom pulley. So my guess is that its leaking from the water pump and running down the pulley. I will have a new water pump and install tomorrow night.

If you guys could post up some water pump removal instructions that woul help me out a bunch.
