It's an old pic from before I lifted it it has plenty of flex now but I plan on cutting the fenders and doing flat fenders upfront for the 35's

you're also going to need a new rear axle if you didnt do something to your 35 when you regeared. on top of that, you're going to need new heavy duty tie rods and drag links.

|Boston_Bruins30||I have a 4cyl 4.88's and 33" duratracs. D44 locked. D30 chromo shafts and locked. I don't use my ac so I can't comment to that but it's deff peppier with the gears than when I had the 4.10 and 33's. I can run 5th on the highway no problem. 4 low I can crawl and climb no problem. I'm gonna be putting 35" mtr's on soon I think tho.|

I'm running a 4cyl and 35's at the moment...going to run 4.88's in the very near future (month or so).
1. yes it'll kill power...you'll notice it for sure with the a/c on. Especially during acceleration...i never run ac, though. I prefer running the top off and doors off and that does just fine for me.
2. I'll be running a super 30 front axle with a ford 8.8 rear axle...no lockers and no i wont regret that
3. A little, yes but not much...my current 35's are only 6 lbs heavier than my 32's i replaced. The rotational mass is really what matters so nothing you can change, there

I'm sub'd for any replies you get to this but I'll give you my 2 cents on it though.
You've got the right idea going with 4.88's for 33's on a 2.5L and AX-5.
1) As for A/C killing the power, I've got a 2.5L, AX-5, stock 4.10's and 33x12.5 MTR's and when I turn the A/C on, I can feel a slight change in power, but that may just be in my head.
2) If you're sticking with the stock D35 rear, I'd go ahead and upgrade shafts if you've got the cash. Or if you've got the money, go ahead and get a D44, have them do the gear swap in the D44 and your D30. Then bolt the D44 up yourself if you've got the tools to save a few bucks.
3) And no I did not take tire weight into high consideration. I did glance at that spec of the tires I was looking at and all of them were within a few pounds of each other. I mainly looked at expected tire life, tread design, on and off road traction, and general performance.

Questions for guys with 4 cylinders, 33s and 4.88s
I've searched, and can't seem to find what I need.
For you guys with a 2.5, 4.88s and 33s, could you give me some insight?
1) Does running the AC kill the power? My TJ has AC, but it doesn't work at the moment, and hasn't since I've owned it. I've been planning on fixing it, just haven't gotten around to it. I would assume it kills power.
2) What other mods did you do, or do you wish you had done when you did gears? Such as shafts, lockers etc.
3) Did you take tire weight into consideration at all when buying your tires? Being that we have 4 cylinders and all, every pound helps.
