tyborbogdan UPDATE:

If you have a dana 35 this will probably not work (looks like a dana 44 in the link), the position of the holes and the ubolt do not line up. This may just be the kit I got ($7.98), anyway, I ended up drilling out the hole bigger and using a longer bolt and nut to secure the original strap. The bolts I bought were the same thread at the original except longer so I replaced all 4. The exception was the one I drilled which is held now with a nut and lock washer.

cakes567 They make bolt extractor bits for a drill. They sell em at lowes. Also you could drill the bolt out. Then just use a tap drill chart and just drill and tap the hole the next size up. That's what I would do if you cant get the bolt out

twister4399 I snapped one when trying to reuse my bolts when my shaft fell. The bolts are in through holes and if I use a smaller bit running forward you can run it out the back. Parts store carries straps and bolts in a kit for like $4 if I would have known that I would have never reused the old bolts.

broken bolt in pinion yoke :S

Background:

My strap bolt on my rear pinion yoke was loose so I tightened the bolt all the 15 ft/lbs, last one wasn't tightening to that and then snapped inside the yoke.

My Question:

Can I just drill out the broken bolt and threads and then put a longer bolt through and just put a nut on the end? or will this interfere with anything.
