Hi all, thanks for all the great info!

For the last 2 months, I've been reading through this forum to help me make the right decision on my first Wrangler. At the beginning of June, I bought a 1997 Wrangler Sport and have been loving it!

When I first thought about a Jeep, it was because we'd moved to a rural area. What made up my mind was a monsoon that flooded a dip in a paved road and rolled out a medium sized rock that was much to large to cross with our Honda Civic. Don't get me wrong, the Civic is a great car for the road, but a questionable choice for rural Arizona.

At first, I felt sure we'd want a hard top so we'd stay cool and a 2.4L to save gas. When I started reading this forum, I learned that a 2.4L didn't really save gas, so I started looking for a 4.0L.

I wasn't finding a good selection of Wranglers with hard tops at the time I did my search, so I came back to the forum to make sure I really needed a hard top. Well, it turned out a hard top doesn't really make your Wrangler cooler. Some even mentioned they thought it was hotter with a hard top.

That let me feel comfortable expanding my search to include soft tops and that's when I opened up the opportunity to get our Jeep. Thanks Wrangler Forum!

The funny thing is that all of my reading here made me realize a cool thing about Wranglers is the ease of modding them to be exactly what you want. Well, my wife and I have been keeping busy with nearly a mod a day for the last couple of weeks. Mind you, we like calling cleaning out the ashtray to make a nice place to store nail clippers a mod.

Anyway, we might be posting some of our more useful mod ideas here in the future. Thanks again.
