I just did rancho leaf springs. Stock shackles.
Only pic I got on my iPad, but you can see the back is getting close to the tire rubbing.

|Sahara1995||Thanks guys I think I'm gonna go with 30s until I decide if I'm gonna do a lift.|

|wakeboard236||I have a 91 but it cannot be a whole different. I run 31s with aftermarket rims and never experienced any rubbing whatsoever|

Speaking from experience.
31's on aftermarket wheels are possible without a lift.
31's on aftermarket wheels with TJ flares (with the required trimming) are perfect.
30's on stock wheels, stock fenders is a good setup if you dont want any issues.
I ran 31x10.5's on AR aluminum wheels on my old 92 until i lifted it and got 33's. That was stock flares. I did the lift and tires only a month or two after i got it though. The PO had the 31's on it when i bought it.
I ran 30x9.5's on stock aluminum wheels on my 1990 for almost the entire time I owned it. I had to extend the steering stops to keep them from contacting the springs at full lock, but otherwise, perfect fit.
My 92 with 31's before i lifted it.

|Sahara1995||AZ Zoner...how did you get the 2.5" lift? Springs, body lift or combo? Can you upload a picture so I can get a better look at her.|

I have a 2.5" lift and 32X11.50 and daily driving is no problem. When I go off road I rub quite a bit on the flares. But I have removed trac bars and run a sway bar disconnect so that may casue some of the rubbing.

|harleydragon||lift springs are normally stiffer|

|Sahara1995||Thanks. Any idea how the ride quality will change if I go with 2-3 inch lift springs?|
|07-01-2013 08:44 PM|
|harleydragon||probably if in fact the springs gave you a full 2 inches but you might still get some light rubbing on big bumps|
|07-01-2013 07:46 PM|
|Sahara1995||Well I don't want to mess with the flares or anything to add room so it sounds like for no issues go with 30s, 31s if I don't mind some rubbing on big bumps. So if I do like 2" springs can I fit 33s?|
|06-30-2013 08:16 PM|
|harleydragon||31's and with a heavy load or hitting bad bumps they will likely rub a little on the fender flairs|

|ChicoJeepy||Well I "think" 33's with adding space in the wheel wells. I had the same idea like yours just leaving it stock but after finding shot shocks, flat leaf springs and garbage shackles I decided to lift her two-three inch's. Trust me it was the greatest thing I have ever done to a rig! No jarring whatsoever! I can go 75 and it feels like I'm going 40|

Largest tire without lifting
Can anyone tell me what's the largest tire that can fit under a stock 95 wrangler without lifting it.
