BigWreck JeepHerz... did Jeep rain on your parade with the 2015 changes to the sub enclosure? Or did they maybe buy the patent from you? I hope it is the latter.

JeepHerz Sure. No pressure. ; )

Goody24 I appreciate you taking the time to get it right. That being said please hurry.

JeepHerz Hello!
The good news: my sub. has been in many months now- no rattles. It's gotten wet several times; no issues. I've had camping gear stacked on top of it- no issues.
The bad news: the second prototype was on the way and we scrapped it. We've had a lot of interest from outside the Jeep world because of the compact size. So we're making some design changes....but don't worry. It will still be Jeep-centric and fit in the same place. We're adding a solid grill that will be in a mud-terrain tire pattern for instance.
Legitimately I don't want to stop anyone from getting their groove on. We'd rather it be right....and we're set back another 3-4 months probably. I very much appreciate everyone's feedback and I am anxious to get this out- but it'll be awhile (again). It's GOT to be done by SEMA so we can show it- that's the goal.

leonhall This is what i have been looking for .. as long as the sound quality is good and it doesn't produce many rattles I am definitely interested ... bump for updates!!

Ahh, when you mentioned holding patents on shallow mount woofers, it peaked my interest, as I have several friends who are in the industry and specialize in the same sort of stuff.

My name is actually Hollis though, something I have seen even less often than Holly lol .

I like the speaker pod, looks like it would work amazingly well with a modest woofer and two passive radiators

MagicMtnDan Like the idea; waiting on the actual solution...

When companies need serious bass in small spaces- they come to him for either design- or design and production. (You'd be surprised at whats really inside your brand name speaker box). Its a definite improvement over the Infinity system and Alpine. Small box- lots of bass.
Is your FIL by any chance named Dan?

I worked for Bose for 5 years, I definitely know it's possible, but most people aren't smart and experienced enough to make it happen. What's your plan going forward? Are you going to sell them?

I am about to drop at least $1k on a sub and amp in the next month. Like many others who replied, I am really interested.

suicideking I've heard her prototype and it sounds really good! I didn't know a sub that small could sound so good. I always thought you needed a 10, 12"+ to get that kind of bass. They've come a long way with the compact subs.

scameron01 It would be cool to start a group buy here on the WF, I would definitely be in. I'll be in regardless!!

Jeep Pete This seems awesome and I am in the process of overhauling my sound, so you've got my attention. The one question is, how does it sound? That's really all that matters to me.

Having it stealth and and such is awesome, but if it isn't a significant improvement in sound over the factory, it doesn't serve it's purpose.

Does it boom with the top off? It seems like a very small enclosure to get anything impacting from. Really curious, looks awesome btw.

JeepHerz Doesn't rattle one iota. We'll be supplying a high density thin foam backer (aka Dynamat) which each sub. we sell. In my 2012 I don't have carpet once you remove the stock tool enclosure- I believe earlier models have carpet underneath. The mat (or carpet) will prevent the sub. from rattling against the metal body. Once the sub. is bolted down using the existing hole it does NOT budge or rattle. I've rock crawled, driven at stupid speeds over bumps and thrown my Jeep over hills I probably shouldn't have- and its solid as a rock.
Now- once you put the cover back down- if you put something directly over the sub it can rattle because the bass moves it. But I consider that a positive.

So does this rattle around a lot in the tool box? Also will this be available to just buy the enclosure??? because this seems like a great idea! Just don't want it to rattle around and make a lot of noise :P

Left the top down in the rain (oops) and everything got drenched. Sub made it through no issues.

If you need non-factory radio testers, let me know. I have an aftermarket Kicker sub that I am not fond of, have been wanting to replace.
