|Postmon||Go test drive both the 3.73 and 3.21 and see what you think. I was debating between the two and went with the 3.73. I found it to have a lot more power when accelerating and going up hill.|

|Lusus_Naturae||3.73 gives you a bit more power for a bit less gas - good if you tow or go to bigger tires. If you stick with 33's and don't need to accelerate fast you can probably get by with 3.21 gears. If I could have gotten 4.10s (without being a Rubicon) I would have.|

I think they made the 3.21 standard to up the MPG slightly. They probably did lots of math for on road use, in an unmodified Jeep, with the 3.6 engine.
The benefit of the 3.73 would be slightly-better / seat of the pants performance when accelerating from a stop, traveling up steep inclines (the Jeep would hold a higher gear longer before downshifting (or you downshifting in an MT), and perhaps when towing.
Also, if you were to select a larger tire diameter, the difference in performance between the 3.21 and 3.73 would become more significant the larger the tire.

3.73 axle ratio option
I am narrowing down my local search for a 2013 Wrangler. What benefits (or drawbacks) does the optional 3.73 rear axle ration do for me? Thx
