WillDawg Thanks! Offset and backspacing, off to do research.

JKjingle They won't have enough backspacing for a wider tire. You can remedy that with spacers but some don't like them an consider them unsafe. As far as a 17 inch tire goes it'll be more money than 15 that's for sure but a little better on road as less sidewall. A 15 will be a little better offroad cause you can air down more and not risk dinging the rim. 15s sometimes have issues clearing the brake calipers as well so keep that in mind. I'm going for new 17s with more backspacing when my lift gets here just so I have the option of going with bigger tires as I may get 37s down the road and want to buy everything once. I'm also not a fan of spacers it's just one more thing to worry about... Although some people go years and years with no issues

First jeep, bought new. Wrecked it and wanting to upgrade now. I'm wanting to do a lift or at least a leveling kit..my question is about the rims though..is there a huge drawback to keeping the 17x7.5"? Price of tires? Less trail ability?

Thanks for the help in advance!
