:::::::::: Build Update ::::::::::::
It's not that big of a deal, but with my limited knowledge, I'm glad I was able to get it done.... I changed the Throttle Body to the 4.0! My phone died, so I didn't have it to take pictures...
I did run into a little problem... The 4.0 throttle body sensors don't allow you to bolt it directly on... So I had to make a trip to my local hardware store to by security torx bits and change out the sensors.... As soon as I did, everything bolted on fine!
I'm not sure, if my mind is playing tricks on me or not... but it does feel like it has a LITTLE more "get up" and idles a tad bit better... I think the idle fix, may be attributed to having a super clean throttle body in there.
Next on the list... is building an ammo can center console... I will forsure take photos of that process!

@CaliforniaYJ: Thanks... I'm sure yours will come out great!
@cakes567: As awesome of a name that is...I'm really digging realSTEEL! I've been soo busy, I haven't had the time to design a decal for the side of the jeep!
|07-20-2013 01:22 AM|
|cakes567||I think you should name it after me! Melvin Friendly. I thinks its a good name.....|

Awesome Jeep! Gave me some inspiration for mine!
|07-12-2013 01:42 AM|
@1987WranglerYJ: LOL... It turned into a guys name along the way... I think i'm going with realSTEEL... now I just have to design a decal to put on the side!!! But that's after I put in the 4.0 throttle body this weekend! LOL

|CaliWrangler||@Xpress: LOL...Okay... I did my research (YOU GOTTA LOVE GOOGLE)... If you are talking about that ATV in the photo with the wheel... I wish! That thing looked pretty cool! Unfortunately, it was the guy who sold me the wheels! He wanted to sell me it too, but I didn't actually get a price.|

@almarsh78: Thanks very much... The Rhino ran me about $500... I the whole tub done and then around the bottom of the outside of the jeep all the way around. I did get a deal on it, because I have a buddy. I think, it would of cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $675 without my hookup. I love it though... I don't worry about anything inside the jeep... I just wash it out and it's good to go.
@Xpress: I feel silly to ask, but what's a 185? I'm lost...LOL
@tankertalk: LOL thanks... Ya, I'm stuck between Zeus & RealSteel! I might just throw the names in a hat... that's always a good way to solve things.
@Jeepwrangler1993: yea... the silver and black has been great... Now I have black out the interior...seats, center console, dash... in due time.
|07-09-2013 11:42 PM|
|Jeepwrangler1993||Yea paint is nice but the previous owner doesnt kno how to paint for shit there runs all over that thing plus I'm thinking silver with black|
|07-09-2013 11:10 PM|
|tankertalk||Zeus is pretty sick!|
|07-09-2013 10:36 PM|
|Xpress||Is that a 185 I spy??|
|07-09-2013 10:31 PM|
Just picked up an 87 myself... Love the rhino liner idea, was thinking of that for mine. If you don't mind me asking... What did the rhinoliner set you back?
|07-09-2013 06:24 PM|
@JeepWrangler1993: I think the color is Toyota Silver.... And ya, the bumper was super awesome... In the near future I want to get the matching back one as well. For now, I'm stuck with the tow-hitch! BTW the paint job on your jeep is sick..... it's sooo glossy it looks wet! And we have the same flares!
@tankertalk: I think "her" might turn into a him! I'm leaning toward something like "RealSteel"..."Rocky"..."Ghost"..."Atom"..."Ze us"
These tough decisions!!!
I did receive the 4.0 Throttle Body today... So hopefully I can somehow figure how to get it installed.

|tankertalk||You did well my friend! So what did you end up naming her?|
|07-09-2013 12:28 AM|

plenty of spare gear oil
Looks like it is coming along great!
|07-08-2013 01:22 AM|
|CaliWrangler||@Mbclark: Great suggestions.... Ya, I guess you can say funds are somewhat limited and so is the ability.... I changed my differential gear oil the other and was stoked.... So ya, skills are limited, but I learn something new every weekend, which makes it fun. But I like the idea of getting familiar with the D35 and creating a repair kit (I'm not sure what would be part of the repair kit, but I'll do some researching).|

Thanks everyone... Now I just have to get her on some trails.
Ohh ya.... quick question... I hear alot of bad mouthing about the Dana 35 rear... and how "fragile/weak" they are. Are they really that bad? Like do they just snap rolling down the street, or are we talking about if we are doing some serious off-roading?
I don't plan on doing any serious off-roading just yet... But I would like to hit up some "light trails".
