Codysrubicon Just did this trail this morning. Clear to the top and busy with hikers and atvs. But definitely worth doing at least once just so you can say you climbed a 14er!

Fair warning.
Just some FYI, in Colorado there is no such thing as a Class C Felony. All of the charges per the Colorado Revised Statue (C.R.S.) go from Class 1-6 Felony, class 1-3 Misdemeanor, or class 1-2 Pretty Offenses.

Goofyjumper Mineral discussion taken offline.... I don't want to argue with the Gold Rush miner.... sorry for taking this thread off topic.

Gold Miner I'm not sure where you're getting your information but it is still wildly incorrect.
Please contact the Lakewood BLM Headquarters or the link I posted for clarification as I do not wish to derail this thread any further.

The split between all minerals and specific minerals varies between a patented and non-patented claim. A patented claim transfers all land and mineral rights to the individual and the non-patented is mineral specific.

(BTW, It's nice to meet someone familiar with mining on here and I am not trying to discredit you, Gold Miner.)

Goofyjumper I could tell by your screen name. I do this for a living as well.

You can create a claim for multiple mineral rights, however your claim must site specifically the minerals you plan to extract from the specific parcel.

Mining claims are mineral specific. For example, if the claim is for gold or silver then it is legal to take another mineral such as quartz.... As long as there is no gold or silver in the sample.

If you don't know what the claim is for, then don't take anything.

BV Jeep Not even close to being open for Jeeps or any other large vehicle. tonight we are getting hammered with snow too. Typically this trail will be open by mid June all the way to the top. This trail ends at close to 13000ft.

JOCJK I've hiked it before and its pretty cool. I'll be driving a buddy up so he can cheat his way to a 14er summit. We should plan a run for it. Not sure it would dried out just yet though, at least on the higher sections.

Does anyone in the BV area know if it is open yet? last November I went and there was a sheet of ice covering the trail after that one sign that splits the trail from antero to boulder mountain.
