mud707 Thanks, how much does a durango or dakota box cost.

affende that is a common leak with the TJ PS gear box ... you can get a rebuild kit for it and rebuild the seals in the box ... but best bet would be to take the opportunity to swap in a 1999 Dodge Dakota / Durango 4x4 steering box ... you can even turn the jeep box in for the core if you feel like making a multimillion dollar corporation lose $15 .... but i dont reccomend it, and i would never do something like that

but FWIW, that seal is the first to go ... next will be the seal on the end of the sector shaft

Steering box leaking.

2 weeks ago while washing the salt off my jeep I noticed power steering fluid leaking. After checking my lines and pump I found it was leaking from the top of the power steering box where the colum goes in. Is there a seal or anything you can buy to fix this or should I just get a used one from the junkyard and toss the old one.
