RevCo666 My hard and soft tops were pre-tinted by the factory. I had my full doors tint matched to legal levels. Brought it to a apple auto glass company so if anything goes wrong later i have a warranty to work with.

JeepandMud Mine's tinted all the way around minus the windshield. But my front windows are tinted, as are the hard top rear and very back window.

Depends on where you live. Some states don't allow the front to be tinted, whereas others have a legal restriction as to how much light can be shone through. I've had cops aim their spotlight in my driver's side window before at a stoplight but nothing came about it because he could clearly see me lol. I know here in CO, you can't have windows tinted limo tint unless you have a business license. I can tint my back more, but not really my front.

gcan if it's a DD I would recommend keeping it legal for your area....I've had friends that pushed it and when checked by the police have had to have it removed or face fines

spirall08 Thanks for the feedback!

After a lot of thought, I think I'll get all 5 tinted. Especially cause my Jeep is black. I kinda like that look.

Now just to decide if I'm going 20's in the back or 35's all around... hmmmmmm?

vanillathrilla My Rampage top had dark plastic windows, so I got the front full door windows tinted to match. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's illegal in my state, but I generally have the windows down unless parked anyway... and I don't drive like an asshole to draw attention to myself.

thgr8alex I tinted all 5, i wanted them all to match

My front steel doors are untinted like they came from the factory.

spirall08 Thanks guys...

Legality aside for the moment, what is the traditional method cosmetically?

Do most people tint all 5 windows (2 doors, 3 hard top)? Or do most of you guys just tint the back 3?

Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Nope,,, not the same in most places.. Northern states, and I'm speaking very generally, the maximum tint is 70 for the front door glass, same as the windshield,, a sedan or coupe cannot have anything else except 70 anywhere... SUVs and vans have no requirements for rear windows., but the windshield and front door windows, once again can be no more than 70... To the op, to be on the safe side, tint the rears all you want, but leave the fronts alone...

Ive seen a few TJs with only the back windows tinted and the front untouched. Is this the more common look? Any pros/cons to doing it this way opposed to tinting all of em?

Was thinking of going 35% in front and a darker 20% in back.

Thanks
