Owen_TJ Looks tons better...I commend you on the decision to dechrome lol

beardedbrethren Well, after getting it the way I want it... I sold it. Had to upgrade to 4 doors for the family... Hard getting in and out of the carseat. Bought a 2010 Sahara. First thing I had to do was remove decals and stock wheels.

Great thread

Wow, is all I have to say. That rig looks totally awesome now. Jeeps are supposed to look like Jeeps. Chrome is for motorcycles and trikes.
07-08-2013 02:40 PM
beardedbrethren well atleast the previous owner gave me a good project. And the chrome sold pretty easy to high school kids here and paid for some upgrades.
07-08-2013 01:27 PM
sajeepgirl I think you are the best thing that ever happened to that poor Jeep. Why do they even sell chrome for Jeeps? Yuck.

beardedbrethren Its been about 9 months now and alots been replaced. A before and after. There is still alot more I want to do, but for now I feel like its mine and in a good spot.

Todd H Your Jeep looks much better now. I ended up just replacing most of the chrome instead of painting. Looks tons better. About the only thing left to replace on mine is the Dick Cepek wheels with some nice black ones. I also plan on plasti dipping my faded flares.

beardedbrethren Bumper came in today. My only problem is that my 6" KC fogs wont fit. Will have to find a slimmer fog.

Jwolfer Looking good. You'll love the Duratracs. I just got mine about a month ago and have put about 1000 miles on them.

04-08-2013 08:29 PM
beardedbrethren Got some tires in today and i'm waiting on a few more pieces. my JCR Stubby bumper, spare tire riser, and a few black accessories to get rid of some hood chrome. All in all i'm liking her a bit more every day.

beardedbrethren Hah, well it boils down to being my jeep, and my decision is the one that counts . I'm not saying you have to black out your chrome, just mine. With that said, i've got alot of chrome accessories for sale... hop on them!

I think you're right about that... One wanting to look like the other one.. Like the saggy britches fad. "I want more of my butt to show than you have showing!"

I removed the chrome plate and the black original was in decent shape so I didn't paint it

beardedbrethren The fogs are a little too big for that bumper, I've got to get some newer ones in. Any suggestions on lights?
02-15-2013 08:29 AM
Powerman06 I dont know if its just the angle of the pics, but is the tubing blocking your fogs?
02-15-2013 07:46 AM

02-15-2013 07:45 AM

That sounds pretty sweet. I just liken painting perfectly good chrome black to when people paint gorgeous hard wood in their homes. But it is what it is :-)
