BonesBrigade Southington Pics

BonesBrigade Went out to Southington Offroad Park in Windham, OH today. Took about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Airport area. Newer park that isn't yet mature. As it ages, I would imagine there will be more trails added. It's 1500 acres and has sand, mud, hill climbs, rocks, water, etc. Fun time.

BonesBrigade I took the Jeep back in and there was definitely an issue that they caused during the work performed. To their credit, when I called them they told me to come back in and they'd look at it. I took it back in and they fixed the issue.

When I recalibrated the Jeep with the Procal, it fixed the shifting issue. Jeep is running like a beast right now.

RemoJK I seen you posting up in another thread about your shift problems. Have you talked to them about it at all/are they helping you make things right? Are the vibrations in the back coming from your gears that they intalled?

I can ask my buddies where they went to get their gears installed. Everyone I know went to the same guy and even did the gears in my current jeep. I'll have to figure out his name/shop

BonesBrigade Update on Meridian Off-Road if anybody is interested...

Again, I re-geared to go from 3.21 to 4.10 and added an Eaton E-Locker in the rear.

They seemed like really good guys who know about off-roading and have obviously modded other Jeeps before. That being said, there were a couple of details that they missed while performing the work.

First, the switch would not fit within the cutouts provided with the stock vehicle. Not a big deal, but they didn't tell me this up front and I had to purchase another panel to fit the switch for the locker and they attached it to the front driver's side windshield pillar.

They did not own a Procal Module, so I had to buy one (again, not that big a deal since I wanted one anyway) for them to use. When they re-programmed the Jeep, they neglected to take into account my larger-than-stock tires and this negatively affected not only the odometer but also the shift points in my automatic transmission. I was revving to 4500 RPM in 3rd gear in situations that did not require this at all. I would have hoped that they would have caught this during their test drives of the Jeep prior to giving it back to me...

Finally, I now have a strange, intermittent vibrating sound coming from the rear end of the Jeep which wasn't there prior to the work being performed. I had a Chevy Tahoe once that had a loose heat shield and it sounds almost exactly like this. It seems to occur primarily during deceleration and is independent of steering in either direction or braking. If anybody has any ideas on what this can be, I'm all ears. Again, this is something I would have hoped they would have heard and rectified prior to returning the Jeep to me.

So, somewhat mixed reviews but they can do a lot of work that I can't readily find a source for near my home. Any other questions about them, let me know.

Vizman Lawrence county here. Few places to go off roading. Large quarry areas in Mahoning Twp. Close to the Ohio line.

RemoJK Doe Valley on the 29th, big Rubbers is letting this guy from "pro trucks and cars" have a little event up there. If you want to go check them out on FB and shoot the guy a message. If you have 2 or more people you can just hit the trails on your own

BonesBrigade Thanks guys. I am headed out to Rausch this summer and I want to feel confident in my Jeep's abilities. The guys at Meridian seem to know their stuff.

Remo - I know you go out quite a bit and I'd like to hit up some local spots this summer as well.

GermanShepherdJeeper I have had 2 lifts put on from Meridian Offroad. One back in 1991 and one yesterday. They are top notch in my book. They do very good work, and make sure it is right when you pick your vehicle up. I never had any gear work done there though. If you look up Transaxle in the phone book. Call them and ask for Ken Konig.; he works there and as far as I know, he is the best in the business for rear ends and differentials.
