Sulkster Awesome mod! I'm doing blue and placing order shortly. I have a 97 TJ w/ slider HVAC so I'll need 7 bhp's. Will order 8-9 in case I have any faulty one's. Close to $40. Just curious if anyone has the most recent promo code?😂. Every lil bit helps. I know as soon as I place order someone will post it. Lol. Btw mixing colors will blend together and according to other posts they don't turn out well. I did see a few posts using 2 differ colors which divides in between the speedometer gauge. Back around page 70 if on iPhone. They used amber and green. Not bad.

djwithanxj Has anyone done this using multiple colors? Wanted to do this to my girlfriends dash, and she suggested I did it using LEDs to make it like a rainbow. Just curious as to if anyone had already tried it.

This one should fit.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...edge-base/198/

And that one would be plenty bright enough. I ordered the Cool White flavor.

A single or 4 bulb I've been told should fit. Can't confirm for sure because I have had greater jeep issues lately and not gotten around to buying the proper bulb but I CAN confirm the 194 5smd won't fit. Been there, failed that.

Top Thrill Jagster I have scoured this thread, going through 30-40 of the 57 pages. Maybe I'm just cruddy at skimming, but I cannot seem to find the size bulb to replace the shifter light in my automatic. That is the light for the PRND21 plate...

Does anyone know what bulb that is from super-bright-leds? Please if you know help! Or send me the link to the page if you know it. Thanks!

mister ed Ok...i've read through bits and pieces of this thread but I haven't seen anything on this...

I have a '98 with the slide HVAC controls and I got one bulb to light up(left side) but the other bulb never lit...and once I turned it on I got a nice little puff of smoke from the bulb area. Any ideas? Now neither bulb will light up after trying to plug them both in and then I got nice little puff of smoke from the other side. Did I just fry something? I'm half tempted to just find another HVAC control.

Oh...and taking out the gauge cluster is a bit PITA if you have a the Poison Spyder bolt in cage...just saying.

If you have your owners manual it will tell you.

NYjeeper_TJ I believe they are all 194 bulbs.

It effects your night vision looking out the windshield.

I agree and said that earlier and someone said that when they pulled out the stock bulb they were on the bulbs. Makes no sense to me.

Red is the best color light for night vision. The Navy uses red passageway lighting on internal lighting after sunset on all ships so if you have to go above deck you will be able to see better at night. All aircraft I have seen use red instrument lighting .

Neil F. Which one (link) Like said, careful some multi leds are too big
10-30-2014 09:38 PM
flowerfistandbestialwail Awesome, thanks! I guess that was the issue, I ordered a 194 5 smd.
10-30-2014 09:04 PM
Neil F. a 194, 168, T10 all have the right base. You hace to be careful with the led style as some of the miti leds are too wide to fit in. You can get them dirt cheap on ebay direct from china. The ones with a cluster of 4 leds (not the smd) fit fine or a single let will do.

flowerfistandbestialwail Anyone have a clue which light to purchase to swap out the light for an auto's shifter (in a '99 if it matters)? The one I got that the website pointed me to wound up not fitting, and I'd like to not buy half a dozen through trial and error...

Neil F. Superbrite has red, blue, yellow, green........

97WranglerOhio I love this mod. Instantly gives everything a new look. Looks good flowerfistandbestialwail

flowerfistandbestialwail My phone's inability to take a decent photo in low light will never cease to amaze me.
Once I upgraded the lights in the HVAC I was pleasantly surprised to find they were already quite blue and matched my radio rather nicely.

NYjeeper_TJ A good night shot with some led light bar action too!

X2 and many have the ability to change the color of the radio as well.

I saw a thread a long time ago where the poster took a red sharpie to the knob/button bulbs behind the faceplate and it illuminated nicely. The only way to change the frwquency display would be to affix say a piece of stage light gel.

97WranglerOhio I could be wrong but I would guess that the radio bulbs will be a bit more in depth including (but not limited to) radio disassembly and possible soldering/unsoldering.

NYjeeper_TJ Looks way better at night! Well worth the 50 bucks to me. Best thing is my radio has about the same color blue to match. Glad I can finally see my dash now!
10-22-2014 09:13 PM
Night Prowler Anybody ever wire their dash lights to stay on all the time? Even in daylight they look bright.

97WranglerOhio That looks awesome NYjeeper!
