miked196 I live in Little Rock too. So many stock JKs around here that dont wave back. I only wave at modified JKs and older jeeps now because I'm tired of people not waving back. BTW, do you happen to know of any good areas to go wheeling in LR? I only know of the Chenal mountain powerlines and that place is starting to get old.

I did force a wave back once - top and doors off, gave a wave at an intersection, got nothing back but a blank stare, unclicked my seatbelt, stood up, waved over the top. I think the wave back was more out of fear than sense of community!
This post made my day.

JK Medic I miss waves sometimes but I try to always wave. I have had this stock TJ that I meet on the way to work everyday. After months of waving to her I recently got a wave back. Just keep waving and it will catch on.

Ozark Wrangler Took off the top for a ride to Vilonia and back today. Met a total of 15 Jeeps, and only two of em didn't wave. Most were topless and looked like they were enjoying the sunshine as much as me!

4JeepNfun Have a 37 yr wave habit from a 76 and 86 CJ-7 (86 croaked in 2010), so now I still wave from a Nissan coupe. Very soon I'll be doing the Jeep wave from my first JKUR!
From Central Arkansas/Grant County....it's a great habit!......

Runner750 Three waves today!! Love how friendly the Jeep community is. Central Arkansas/Cabot area here.

DanvilRubi I'm in Georgia and I think I get the return wave about 50% of the time. I found using the two finger peace sign is responded to better than the crazy wave that some people take as " stop I want to sell you something"! Lol

scokes A big wave from NWA. I recently moved to Rogers from Pine Bluff and I would estimate the return wave at about 85% or more. It's nice to pass someone you don't know and may never meet, but feel as though you have enough in common that you can fling your arm out the side of a vehicle and most of the time get a friendly return wave.

The largest percentage of people i see that don't wave back are usually in dress clothes and you wonder why they even bought a jeep in the first place. No worries though. I will continue with the wave until they find their "button".

sstryk I always wave with a reasonably high return rate here in northern Virginia, it helps when the hard top is off, the soft top down, and the other jeep is modified or another Rubicon... My wave button keeps sticking, seems I wave at every jeep, motorcycle, etc...

The stock wranglers I wave at look at me like I'm a moron! So I'm with you on this

donbadabon Sometimes when I am in my non-Jeep daily driver I forget I am not in my Jeep and I wave. That really gets me strange looks.

Fa310tx I recall a line from a motorcycle forum, concerning people's lack of waving...

Don't be offended if someone riding a Goldwing doesn't wave back.
They just haven't found the "wave" button, yet.

Big wave back!

groovebus I've turned it into a game for my daughters when they are riding with me. We get alot more waves back when they wave first. It's hard not to wave at an 11 and 7 year old riding in the back seat of a doorless JKU, wearing shooting glasses to block the wind, and WWII jeep watch caps to keep their hair out of there faces.

Macnerd I wave and don't worry if they don't wave back. I try to presume the positive, you know...they were distracted, just had something on their mind, or were slow to react. If they don't know, don't care, or think that having a modded Jeep makes them a better driver off road, I'm better off not knowing.

I'm in the Long Beach area... Same thing up here. I stopped waving at stock jeeps and now just wave to the modified (even the slightest bit) Jeep. I get about a 80-85% wave back.

Wade88 I wave at everyone I see driving a Jeep. And always get crazy looks!

VertigoTX I live in Central Arkansas as well. I've only owned my Jeep for about a month now. I had heard about the Jeep wave, and was familiar with the idea since I've owned motorcycles in the past, so I started doing it right away. Of the dozens of waves I've thrown people, only 1 has waved back. Typically, if they see it at all, they look back confused as though they are trying to figure out how they know you. What surprises me is that the large number of them that look irritated or upset that you have waved at them.

Oh well, it's their problem. I'm enjoying my Jeep, and I'm going to keep waving.

Fa310tx Thanks for the post...
I was actually wondering what was kosher.
I'm a motorcycle guy and I signal every bike I pass.

Wave

I would say I only get 20% wave back. The rest look at me like they don't know me.

drphil04 I am in. Lets keep the wave alive.
