The comparable American trailer would be the M416.
The M101 (US) is designed for being pulled behind bigger vehicles like trucks.

Anyone know where to find these?
Anyone know a current place to find any of these? I've been looking for over a year.

|cmbb-hdhunt||Nice idea but does the hi lift kit not obscure the headlamps a little? The light from JK headlamps is quite poor as it is...|

I would love to get something like this in Africa.

|AegisCPO||Thanks. Your build is outstanding! Definitely on the lookout for something similar for the weekend camping trips.|

Now for your question...those are great trailers...but not for a jeep (my opinion). They are too big and heavy. Now having said that, guys will use them behind a jeep (stock) and some guys change out the axles, drop a leaf spring or two and change the wheels/rubber ect. to help with weight.

|AegisCPO||M101A1 is hard to find, not knowing a lot about these trailers, if I can get a hold of a M101A2 trailer, would it be recommended or steer clear of it? Thanks.|

I wish I was half as talented as some of the folks on this forum.
What a cool project

Spent a few minutes in the garage this morning. Used up a few things I had laying around...a caster wheel to help rolling it around while in the garage...probably won't help much in dirt or gravel due to its size. Added an old cargo net to the roof for storage and found another use for some quick fists that I bought a while back.

|Y-Guy||Love your build thread. I keep trying to find a decent one for a decent price. They sell fast or they are a pile of rust it seems like. Thanks for the info, hope I can use your information one of these days.|

Tired of never having a set place to keep my shovel on the 101 so I put a couple quick fists and hose clamps to use.

I think legally I need to have lights covered...it was an excuse to order something anyway.

I thought I would update this thread with a few little things I've added to the set-up. I have a hi lift that's about 2 years old but brand new because I never take it with me...I've never actually found myself in a situation that my winch or a shovel couldn't get me out of...anyway...these tubular mounts will work awesome when on trips and the hi lift is easily removed to be left in the garage when not needed.

I used the trailer a lot this summer and it worked like a charm, no leaks and it pulled great.
Added a few things to it...2 Kolpin fuel canisters for emergency and finally finished up the rack. The Kolpins were on sale for 30$/each and I was able to build the rack for 105$ (I had the basket from previous jeep).
