CaptnGus I got the Borla dual cat back exhaust system. All polished stainless. They do look really good. I have much better air flow, and I now get 3-5 mpg better mileage. I was hoping for more exhaust sound.

This systems is probably our quietest system. Not too sure what year is your JK, but if it is a 12/13 you could remove the resonator under the driver seat and have it replaced with 2.5" straight pipe, that will make it a bit louder.

Dynomax dual outlet muffler looks great, sounds great, and only costs about $180.00. I get a lot of compliments on the look.

TOK All the cat back stuff is just dual outlet on a single muffler. I think that is 98% cosmetic. From everything I've read about true duals, you have to be really careful with smaller engines.

Like 2five22 mentioned, you can gain horsepower higher in the rev range at the expense of torque... Torque is last thing you want to give up in a Jeep. At the very least, find someone that has done true duals with a balance pipe and actually dyno'd it before committing.

2five22 If you run the engine at or near the redline much of the time, yes. Adding the extra cat, the extra muffler, a cross-over H pipe, etc. is going to add mass in any instance.

traitor08 Don't run duals on a small motor. Dual outlets are a different thing.

wmwhitey I have the Dynomax Evolution comp exhaust. I lost a lot of MPG the first week as I would stab the skinny peddle to the floor. After that week I drove sane and it still sounds great and my MPG went up around 1.5MPG and I can feel a small pep in his step. I know its not a dual exhaust but if your looking at getting one I say they Dynomax.

Raiderfan001 Not on a tiny 4 or 6 banger.

HunterTheBeagle It sure won't hurt, but I have to side with AverageJK. Don't expect miracles. I have a banks intake and banks exhaust, they sound amazing and look great. But I couldent tell a difference in power. Seemed to smooth out my throttle a little and gave a little better response. But I did it for the sound, which in my opinion is worth it.

AverageJK Or not

4wheel Dave With the cool air intake and the duals, I think it will help with all the weight that I've added.

HunterTheBeagle Btw why ALL CAPS?
07-13-2013 10:03 PM
HunterTheBeagle That depends! You asking about performance? Or just sound & looks?
