speedyrev Amazon.com: Pyle PLPW6D 6.5" 600 Watt Dual Voice Coil 4 Ohm Subwoofer: Car Electronics

Pyle 6.5" DVC - I like it because you can wire it exactly like the factory speaker. It sounds great with the stock head unit.

It will fit in your console if you trim the plastic "fins" to give the magnet more room. Yes it requires some work, but it's really not that hard.

The 10cvt652 fits with only very minor modifications and the 40cwrt672 is the same.

I don't know but it has to be pretty low.

They just have a tendency to crap out. I bought my Jeep used and the sub was already dead after only two years of use by the PO.

mdutton This Kicker one looks interest. Wonder how easily it would fit. What is the max output of the OEM amp that is in the center console? I started having problems after we took the doors off. Been turning the radio up to hear. Maybe that overloaded the subwoofer

I'm using a Kicker 10CVT652 but I just learned about the Kicker 40CWRT672.

BigCrave I bought a 6.5" Bose 2ohm dual voice coil sub from SpeakerGeek on Ebay. Paid $20 for it and have had no problems with it. If you buy a different sub and plan on using the built in amp, make sure you purchase a 2ohm dual voice coil speaker. The 4ohm dual voice coil subs don't work well with the OEM amp.

Center console sub woofer speaker

I replaced my original center console sub woofer last year with a Quadratec replacement subwoofer 14133.1001 since is was the only direct fit replacement. It is starting to sound terrible again. Has anyone experienced quality issues with this subwoofer or did I just get a bad one? Is there anything better without making lots of modification?
