I got a really good deal on my Jeep, $22,500, for a basic 2013 with hardtop, manual trans, and 3.73 gears.
When it came time to finance, the dealer wouldn't offer the warranty for less than $3850. That's almost 20% the cost of the vehicle, and my Jeep is a basic little tank (not much to break). The dealer said he'd lower my loan APR from 5.9% to 3.9% if I bought the warranty.
The warranty was fully refundable for 60 days, so I bought warranty, took the good interest rate, canceled the warranty, and kept the interest rate. F'em.
$3850 for a warranty is absurd, and it represents pure profit in most cases. I'm bumper-3-bumper for 3y/36,000 and full powertrain for 5y/100,000. I'm fine with that. I do my own wrenching.

There are many threads already about the extended warranties if you use the search feature.
As far as the cost, I was offered the max care lifetime extended warranty for a little over $3,000 at closing. One of the forum members on here sells the same Chrysler warranty for less than $2,000. Shop around before you sign the paperwork.

Hello all I am new to this forum as well as New to Jeeps. After owning everything you can think of and looking for something "else" for the wife I introduced my better half to Jeeps...as I have had my eye on them and thought that would be different. So after the last 3 Mercedes Benz ML's as of today she has a loaded Wrangler Sahara...all white(fenders & top) with tan leather...sweet little ride I must say. Looking at extended warranty as I am not planning on switching at 25K like everything in the past. Has anyone purchased this and if so whats your opinion? Thanks!
