|TJMichael||15x8 wheels are good for 10.5 or 12.5 width tires. The back-spacing on the factory Canyon wheels is the issue. They will work fine with a 31x10.50 or 33x10.50 tire, but a 33x12.50 or even a 32x11.50 tire will rub unless you run wheel spacers. The factory wheels have close to 5-inch back-spacing, while most aftermarket wheels will have 3.5 to 4.25 inch back-spacing, which will accommodate the wider tires without having to use spacers. One of our TJ's has 31x10.50's on the factory Canyon wheels, and the other one has 33x12.50's on Ion alloy wheels, and neither has any rubbing issues.|

33" tires on 15"x8" stock wheel? (TJ)
Guys I have been doing research like crazy the last few weeks and could really use some answers? I believe my stock wheels are the canyon 15"x8" on my '99 TJ Sport. I just bought a 4" zone offroad lift kit and now I'm looking at tires. I essentially would like to run Duratrac 33"x12.5" if the stock wheels can accomodate them. If not I would look at Cooper Mud Terrain 33"x10.5." I have done my research, and many people have suggested 33"x10.5" would run fine, but when I called 4WD they told me I would have to look at aftermarket wheels, the guy there said the size would be 15"x8" that I believe I already have stock. Help me out guys and gals? What would you recommend?
