My last three trucks have all been 1,000 miles before towing. But they are all 1/2 ton full size trucks that can pull 9,000 pounds so maybe they want to be extra careful over the 500 miles mentioned above. Either way at your mileage you are clearly safe.

Manual states no towing first 500 miles.

|Knuckles65||Dealer recommended to me no towing or heavy loads (i.e. wheelin' off road) until 1K miles. I'd say you're good.|

|DF Jeep||I towed max capacity at 1,500 miles. No worries. Check or change oil and adjust tire psi n drive.|

How many miles in before towing?
I just reached 7,000 miles on my JK and bought a hitch for it yesterday on Amazon. We are going to the Rattlesnake Enduro in PA next weekend and I want to tow an open trailer with just coolers, tents, and our bags and such. The dirt bike will be in the bed of a friend's pickup. It's a long drive for us (4-5 hours) and where the race is can be pretty mountainous. You think it's ok to tow at 7,000 miles? Is that a long enough wait? THANKS!
