BeepBeepImaJeep yep, i think the job was really awesome, you can always go and buy the stock fenders again.

lol you know those come off right? it is a jeep, you must understand, its not like he cut into the body with a jig or something

IndyJeepMan Eh, like he said personal preference. Once you own a jeep and have modified. I doubt you will be selling it anyways. Once you put your lift kit and stuff on it anyways any modification will decrease value. Fenders are the least problem..

Anyways, how did you mount those lights on the fender? and sonofabeach I can't see the picture of the job you did on your TJ. I have stock fenders and I wanna see what it looks like..

Thanks.

Matter of opinion I guess. I like the look on some.

BeepBeepImaJeep Im doing this soon, i have the 7" flares, so ill have lots of flares left over! im stoaked!

sonofabeach Yeah I think it does looks better in person. Right now everything's filthy. I need to paint them as well. I cut it as close to the edge as I could before it curved too much. They did not have much flare to begin with. I'm happy with it.

Levinoss Maybe it looks better in person but I think the JK having more flare left is what makes it look good. Just doesn't seem to have enough flare left on the TJ. =/

sonofabeach After checking out this thread, today I whipped out some masking tape, eyeballed it and then hit the fender with the jigsaw. After cutting I used a file to smooth them out. I still may angle the front of the front fenders and maybe add the door protector trim but I'm sure if I need that. It took maybe 45 minutes tops.

jlawor Nice look. I ended up doing Xenon fenders because I had to cover the 35" 12.5 tires or I would not be able to get a State Safety Inspection.

Thanks , its just the roll door trim I picked up at O'Reilly's.It has adhesive in the grove already so it goes on quick ,DONT STRETCH IT TO TIGHT ,it will pull lose overnight ,which is not a good thing to see first thing in morning ,Personal experience.

Yep Missouri does not have a fender law, dont even have to have ANY fenders at all.
Before

Only have a couple on computer here at work I'll get more this afternoon.

Can you take a few steps back and give us some full jeep shots? Different angles etc instead of close ups? Wonder how it would look like with TJ after market flares like bushwacker pocket style because they have a little more beef then the stock flares on my 98. Would suck spending all that money on the wackers and just cut them up.

Dewayne Left the front fender support to give extra strenght
Just trimmed where was at edges

Did most of cutting with fenders on Jeep.
07-07-2009 11:33 PM
Dewayne The rough idea
Wanted to keep as much width as possible. So cut where the fender edge rolled. And wanted to keep straight line from front view.Tried to keep as wideas steps. Round edges (trim fits better) ,kept front line to match the grill line on bottom.
07-07-2009 11:23 PM
Dewayne I just cut them from factory fenders.
The reson I cut them
