No.. it shouldn't. They say every six months to a year due to condensation buildup. I've always tried to start my other vehicles that sit at least once per month and allow it to reach operating temperature. You need to do that anyway to keep the battery charged.

Do you have access or is it stored?

JeepSteeler Oil was changed at 2,550 on odometer. There is currently 4,300 on odometer. A recent question to Chrysler I also asked them about the dealership advising us to do changes 1x per year if the 3,000 mile wasn't met. They said 8k miles or 6 months which conflicts with dealer. Only found out about this at 7 months/1700 miles since the change. That's why I asked the question here.

JenyGirl WOW!!! That's a long gap. Not understanding this.. I drove suv's (aside from used jeeps in my teens) and didn't change oil until every 4-5k miles... When i got my new sahara in 07, i thought i could do the same. Well it wasn't until I pulled into a gas station to get gas one afternoon in my brandy new Jeep, That I got the engine knocking from hell.... Well, I never left that gas station on wheels. It wound up being towed to the dealer only to find out that the engine block blew :o I could've died!!!! (Well my husband almost killed me) but We were puzzled and told by the dealer that these new jeeps had a VERY new Engine. What kind of new engine this was, who knew... In short, we thought Chrysler and the dealer only to dish out almost 8 grand with a month old jeep, for a new block.

Probably one of the worst days in my entire life. Change your oil

Oil Change Interval question

Our Wrangler only had 4,000 miles the first year. We had oil changed at 2,550 in December. The dealer has been telling us that mileage is more important than time. They recommend changing oil one time per year if the 3k miles isn't met.

Recently I wrote Chrysler to ask another question and I asked them also about the oil changes. They said 8k miles or 6 months should not be exceeded. The prolem is it is at 7 months and 1700 miles since the last oil change. Can anyone tell me if this will this void the warranty? Any help appreciated.
