Mine does... when the front is folded back, but it stops as the top is unfolded Closed. We generally leave it closed while going down the freeway 60+ MPH. Off road at slower speeds it is obviously no problem. Thought about making a paracord strap or using small ATV size sinch strap to "tie" it down, but have not done so yet.

rockabillyroy I've never had a problem with the trektop hooks attaching on the jku, but I do have the spidershade jkini and they run through the same holes.

I think your setup looks great and I'll be switching mine to this soon.

Thanks for the tip.

donnyv12 I'll bring this back up only because I recently installed a Trektop on my Jeep and scoured the internets to find this solution. A++ solution.

4X4Lady Why Knot, I just wanted to say Thank-you for posting this. I tried doing it another way a few weeks ago, but noticed that the straps kept coming loose & the roof would raise up really bad on the highway. So I just copied your idea to see if that would be better....I found some black paracord & it's much tighter now. So thanks

matthew87 good idea

I used one of the smaller type bungee cords and hook the ends where spindles goes. the I clipped the nx clips to the bungee cord.

4X4Lady I did something similar to this with some of the same type of strapping material. The clips kept popping out & everytime they did, I thought something was hitting the roof....scared the crap out of me! I don't know why Bestop hasn't come up with a better idea for these straps!

Easy Fix for Bestop Trektop NX Soundbar Straps

I have a Bestop Trektop NX for my 2D 2013 Sahara and just love it.
The problem I had was that the straps that attach to the sound bar bottom out before pulling snug. To fix this, I just took a short piece of paracord and made a loop to fit up through the holes and behind the sound bar. This allows the strap to be used in its more productive range.

For the loop I just tied two overhand knots with a washer.

Well, pictures always help so here is the loop....

Here is how it fits....
