shoepick I have a 2" BDS lift with 1" shackles and love the ride ( no track bars or sway bar ) and they have a no questions asked warranty.

followgod2 i installed the Rubicon express 2.1/2 '' lift kit along with a 1'' body lift and i love the ride. i only use it as a daily driver.

NonRubicon If doing those things above doesn't help, then it may be time to invest in some new springs. I highly recommend Old Man Emu. Dollar for dollar they cost about as much as replacement factory springs, but they provide a few inches of lift and ride really smooth at the same time.

Additional advice - plan on spending the money on a SYE setup even if only planning a ~2.5" lift - at least have the money available just in case. Every Jeep is a little different - some only need a t-case drop with a 2.5-3" lift, some don't need anything. Some need various combos of drops, shims, MML. Some need a SYE when nothing else solves the vibes. You aren't going to know the final driveline angles until you actually get the lift installed. From there you need to experiment to find a solution to any vibes. That solution could be a SYE, should all else fail.

OregonPlinker Air down a little when running gravel roads and stuff. It really makes a difference. New shocks will help. I think I heard somewhere that lift shackles make for a rougher ride? I could be wrong. Mine has worn out saggy 3.5 inch lift springs and rides way better than my buddys TJ with 2.5 inch lift springs... My ride also got a lot better when I ditched the track and sway bars.

twister4399 Removing track bars and putting in monotube kyb shocks helped my stock suspension 94.

roadyrob old man emu has the best ride, stay away from rough country they live up to their name.

AllMudd I believe stock springs will be the softest you'll find but I may be wrong. He a good set of shocks that work for your budget but that are soft ride. Also drive down a road you normally drive and pay attention to the ride quality. Take it home and remove the track bars. All they do is keep the axle centered on coil sprung suspensions. Kind of useless on a leaf sprung suspension since the leafs keep the axle centered. They attach one side to the axle the other to the opposite side frame rail. Drive that same road and see the difference it helps trust me. Also the shackle bolts should only be tightened to 45-55 lbft. But also should only be tightened with weight on them. I would also loosen all 8 of them and the 4 frame leaf mount bolts jump really hard to get the suspension the set a little and re torque them back down.

ChicoJeepy Well a lift is going to improve your ride while just leaving it stock is missing out on the many options for Jeep. If you want to get rid of Leaf springs there is a coil conversion kit you can do. Let's say you wanted to have a Rough Country 4 inch lift, you wouldn't need a SYE that's more for rock crawling to keep the belly from bottoming out. The RC lift comes with a TC drop kit to keep the driveline/transfer case aliened. You don't need to worry about an SYE, this way it would be cheaper for you without missing out on a quality ride and you won't have to spend more money on a conversion. Leaf springs are easy to work with compared to coil springs and trust me I've worked with both, there really isn't any difference with the ride between the two just easier for the companies to pump out coils.

Looking for a smooth ride.

I have a 1995 Yj 4.0L, and I do understand there is a whole forum on lifts and suspensions but nothing in there is what I needed.

I use this jeep primarily for a daily driver and sometimes for a fast trip in the sand dunes or down a bumpy gravel road. My leaf springs and shocks are all stock and I am on a 2 in. body spacer with a 2 in. shackle lift.

I'm looking to put a new suspension under it soon and want to improve my ride. In other words make it much smoother. I understand leaf springs aren't the smoothest thing in the world but I do know there is something out there that is smoother then stock springs and shocks.

Looking for an affordable suspension kit no more then 2.5 cause I do not want to have to put a slip yoke on. College/Resident Firefighter not a lot of cash available.

Any ideas? Please help.
