|Cons_Table||We are in the process of stripping the car down and prepping it for hammers. I also threw in a pic of an RC car. One of our Facebook followers all the way from Austria, is building a tenth scale modeled after our car. How cool is that?|

Don't be afraid to "baby" your rig lol. We are racing...not wheeling haha. None of the guys on our team hammer it in their personal rigs....no need to hurry if you aren't racing. Rigs definitely need to hold up though. After 5 races of beating on it this season, we are tearing the jeep down to the floor in order to prep for Hammers. Those pics will be up soon!

|10-21-2014 10:36 PM|
Well guys...the 2014 season is officially over! We went to Reno, raced it, and left satisfied. Reno was probably one of the coolest/funniest races of the season...both for the team and for the spectators. This is the first time Ultra4 raced on the Reno course. Tons and tons of rock was moved in to the course to create a challenging rock race course. I heard from numerous people that the stock class race was one of the best races of the season...I would like to believe that we helped contribute to that. A little race recap...
The team arrived in Reno late Thursday night. Practice took place Friday. Unfortunately the stock class got very limited amounts of practice time. I don't necessarily believe that this was a bad thing, just a bit inconvenient.
Saturday was the big day. Race scoring was a bit different this race...but that's another story. At about 845, we set out and raced prelims. We got out to a rough start. As everyone approached the first rocks section...we got bound up and stuck. This resulted in us falling to the back of the pack and having to chase the others down. We eventually got rolling and made up as much time as we could. During prelims we also suffered some sputtering and a flat tire. The sputtering turned out to be an issue with the speed sensor and the flat tire was the result of steel wheels. Both were easy fixes though.
At 215 we were on the course for the main event. The car was running strong and we didn't have much to worry about. We started the race and ended up stuck again in the first rock section. AgAin, this put us at the back of the pack. Thankfully since scoring was different for this race, we weren't considered to be in last place. There was a lot of contact and action...which made for an exciting race for all. Ultimately we finished 6th place out of about 12 racers.
All that being said...we walked away with a 3rd place finish in The National Championship due to point standings. What this means is that we had the third highest amount of points from all 5 combined races. We are pretty excited about this considering it is our first season of racing Ultra4. Now it's time to prep for KOH2015. We've got big hopes and plans for the upcoming season. Here are a few teaser pics. I will post more later.

|Cons_Table||So the transfer case finally crapped out on us today. A few guys took off out of town and picked up a new (to us) transmission, 231 case, 4 doors and a couple tail lights. Thankfully the tcase broke now rather than next weekend during our race!|

|Cons_Table||Here are some pics of a few changes we made for Reno. If u have any questions, just let me know. New Rear bumps, fixed rear corners, Novak shifter cable, shackle relocation brackets...|

|Cons_Table||Alright guys...sorry I've been slacking lately but I will see if I can get you all up to speed. So our last race was in Tooele, UT. It was a tough course, but a lot of fun from what I hear. Unfortunately I did not physically make it to this race so everything I am relaying to you all is word of mouth. We finished fifth in our class but the car held up. We feel that we would have done better but on the first lap everything bottle necked and we ultimately ended up behind the pack. This course took the hardest toll on the car. We crushed both rear corners pretty bad, bent rear bumper, etc etc. Here are pics from the race and also from some improvements we are making to race in Reno, NV next weekend.|

I apologize. Over the next few days I will get you some good updates and pictures...hang tight and don't give up on us yet .|

From what I have seen, trails dont appear to be a mess. I would guess that this is because everyone wants to continue doing this, so they try to clean up the best they can.
I was more meaning actual trail condition. When you put high horsepower buggies on the trail racing a lot can happen to ground beneath them. At that point, it is no longer rock crawling, but rather rock racing. My understanding is the since King of the Hammers started in Johnson Valley, trails have gotten significantly wider, some obstacles harder, and some easier. So there is potential that this can happen out here as well.
