I see you are new to the forum. Welcome.

You may or may not have noticed, but you posted this in the CJ section. With yours being a 95, that makes it a YJ. You would likely find you would get a few more responses had you posted this in the YJ section.

tankertalk Many have the same issue. If you're lucky the spring clip broke and the gear just slid back. They sale a kit that will eliminate this issue. I had to do it on mine. Just google fifth gear retainer for AX 5 transmission. I'm sorry but you will have to pull your transmission.

Lost 5th gear

I have a '95 wrangler 4 cyl. I lost 5th gear sometime ago, it just stopped no grinding or any other noise. Could it be a simple fix?
