Basically, you need to download the .ISO files (an .ISO file is kind of like a .ZIP file) one for the firmware and the other for Gracenotes. Burn each .ISO file into a DVD-R disk on your PC, and then load them one at a time into your 730N. It takes about 1/2 an hour for each to complete their update.
For the maps, you need to buy that since each copy sold is VIN locked.

|10Rubicon||Hello forum friends. I purchased the 2015 Jeep Chrysler navigation map update from HERE customer services center for my 2013 Rubicon. It has the radio software update RHR version 2.600 and the navigation map update for Uconnect. I had to provide my VIN when ordering and I had to use a password provided by HERE when installing. The installation was flawless. Does anyone know if I can resell this disc set or is it locked to my vehicle with the VIN and password?|

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post my question but...
I can't get my 730N to display the list of all songs. I'm currently stuck in the My Favorites folder. If I try to access the full song directory nothing comes on the screen and it disables the touch screen and buttons on the back of the steering wheel for about 2 minutes. I can't seem to get it out of this spot. I'm hoping someone else has had a similar issue and can over up a solution so that I don't have to take it into the dealer.

Find a VIN for a 2012 Wrangler with the 730N, and use that VIN to order your map updates. Ideally, you could find the actual VIN from the donor Wrangler.
I have a feeling that even if Chrysler was somehow able to "link" the 730N to your own VIN, Navteq will always assume you have a 2014 730N and only offer you map updates for one of those (for which, there aren't any yet).

Used 730N RHR in new Jeep Wrangler
I just purchased a used 730N RHR unit and mopar microphone for my 2014 Jeep Wrangler to replace the 130 radio. It was pulled from a 2012 Wrangler. I entered the security code and it works like a charm.
However, as I've seen from some posts, that I can't download the lastest software updates or order the new Navteq maps as it asks for a VIN, which in my vehicle is the old radio.
I went to my dealership last evening to have the unit associated under my VIN but they are unable to do this for a used unit. They are keeping this as an open ticket and is talking to Chrysler to figure out how to make this update.
Given that this shouldn't be an unusual task (people updating for newer aftermarket units and no longer needing the older factory unit), what can be done to allow the unit to be assigned to my VIN?

|phansson||Here is a little new information about my volume knob...dealer replaced the radio last week. So I guess it wasn't 2.6 after all...the new radio has 2.6 on it from the factory....|

I wish I could disable the HU controls....

I always use the steering wheel controls (use to such for years on my other vehicle). I will have to check the knob on the radio the first chance I get.

I do not think there was a 2.4.
From my recollection, or at least what I upgraded to/from, the recent revisions went like this:
2.136 -> 2.184 ->2.6
Now I did see a 2.140 that oddly was between the 2.184 and 2.6, not what you would expect. I never installed this version as it was not clear it was for our RHR radios.
I found a list of all of the versions of software up to 2.126, talk about screwed up ordering...
1.908 -> 2.110 -> 2.116 -> 2.120 -> 2.169 ->2.126
I am not sure if there was anything between 2.126 and 2.136. I have been happy with 2.6 so far.

I have the 730 N and I have the trip log turned on so it shows my route history in "blue". Is there a way to clear the route history...?? It seems like I can only turn it on and off and when I turn it on it always shows the old routes...

Is anyone else having issues with the 2.6 firmware? I am probably going back to the 2.4 issue...
My 730N does not show track lists, capitalizes all the tracks at times, will not connect to my phone, no artwork and some other issues since I updated. They are intermittent so I would believe it is software related.

While I like Garmin Nav more, mostly because I am use to it from other cars, the 730N has a few nicer features like dead reckoning and breakcrumbs.

YOUTUBE has been my bestest friend for learning how to use my 730N.
Scale, I belive the circumference of the little blue circle (or is it yellow?) with the arrow in the middle determines scale....I think.
I've seen the nav system Toyota offers, it is MUCH more user friendly that that of the 730N. Now I just need to figure out how to switch out the one in my brothers FJ for the one in my JK.

I wish there was a way to make it look like the 430...730 looks so dated. I even use it in nightime mode all the time because it looks better.
Is there a way to change the colors? I would prefer blacks/greys over the terrible blue and light blue colors. My wife's 430 just looks better IMO.

I successfully upgraded last night...
Application - From 2.136 to 2.600
Gracenotes - From 4118 to 5411
Are there any significant differences that are worthy to mention?
