YjMopower okay found a clutch kit with the slave cylinder off ebay for $135.yr it ranges are 89-92 .now for the flywheel iam pretty sure i can use the one right above in the pics. now for my next question the clutch hose can i make the line out of stainless steel lines ?what would be the measurement? if the hose is fryed can i just replace that portion?or is it better to replace the whole thing?

RednekYJ I'm not 100% sure but that looks like an AX-5 to me. Can you count the splines on the output shaft? If there are 21 that sucks. If 23 you are in good shape.

YjMopower okay i think the verdict is going to be to change to manual, i know i will need more parts but thats not to much of a problem besides i always wanted to learn manual . meanwhile iam going to keep the autotrans on the side and fix it up so i can use it for my future 360. I found a guy selling the trans and the other parts for $200 . Iam not sure about the clutch he is looking for it, most likey get this new with the kit. this ax15 is coming out of a 89 Comanche . so is the flywheel and pedals . my question is will the pedal work for the wrangler? from pictures i think it could work but not to sure. i think i might also need a different flywheel i looked at the flywheel on quadratec and this one seems to be missing teeth but yet again it came out of a Comanche cant be to sure.

i dont know. without seeing trans and tc in person i just dont know. from previous threads i believe you damaged the tc or pump but sometimes hands on is the only way to diagnose. the best i can do is give you some info but you need to post pics of trans input shaft looking straight in and tc where it splines onto input shaft.

generally speaking if the trans worked before it should work without a full rebuild. just replace the broken parts. if youve never rebuilt an auto trans ide say leave it to someone else. too many things need to be splined, sealed, clipped, and compressed perfectly or you might not have any gears at all.

YjMopower yup thats where i been checking at couldnt find anything, i took my trans to a couple of places and they said they can do it for 400 , but my question is can i use the rebuild kit and a new tc will it work again?

dooder have you checked craigslist? that would be my first place ide check. ide stick with auto trans since ide want to drive asap. with stick youde need more parts. get it driveable and then later when time/money are there convert it to stick.

YjMopower yea that would been totally sweet hey doodler it happen to be the knock sensor making the noise. i am not sure what to do right now i was thinking of changing from auto to manual but i cant seem to find anyone selling ax15 around here i tried the tristate area already. and if i do find someone there selling it for 450 . a lil to much. I found a rebuild kit on quadratec for my auto the only problem is i wouldnt want to install it and still have the same problem.

jpdocdave the ax 15 has a plate in the middle, and has two halves seperated front to back. the peugot is seperated in two halves from left side and right side.

07-12-2009 10:29 PM

07-12-2009 10:19 PM
YjMopower opps i meant the vacumm diagram for the auto trans there are two vacum lines that go up to the firewall, but thanks i figured it out allready. And the name of the trans is a TF999 - TorqueFlight .thats for the auto .I cant seem to find rebuild kits for this trans either.
07-12-2009 08:21 PM

07-12-2009 07:15 PM
