|Creatrix98||So with mount #1 I would have to drill a hole for the cable?|
|05-03-2014 06:10 PM|
With mount #2, the hinge mount, there are several options:
#1.) run the cable back into the plastic hinge cover and then to the driver side and through hole for the rubber snubber
#2.) up and over the door, or through the crack by the hinges
#3.) something we haven't tried but was brought up by a customer would be to mount the antenna on the bottom hinge and then you could run the cable under the bottom of the door or through the crack in the door towards the bottom.
Hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions.

|Creatrix98||What kind of routing options are there with mount #1 or #2? I am trying to think of a way to route the cable inside the tailgate. Any ideas?|

How I wired it:
I took off the long black plastic piece and ran the ORO wire along existing Jeep wires and ran it through the Jeep fabric. I secured it with the existing black zip ties as well as several new ones.
I separated my target wires:
The white with brown tracer that runs to stock 3BL which I tapped with the ORO Red wire, and two wires (Black & White w/ purple tracer) that go into the P. side break light grommet. I obviously tapped the black to ORO black for ground, and the ORO green to Jeep white w/ purple tracer. Worked like a charm and I love it.
The break light works with the break lights, and does not blink while on, or with the right blinker. The marker light works perfect. It is bright, and clear.
I can not wait to get LED tail lights now.
My Wranglenater looks so much better without that disgusting spare tire carrier, or the ugly stock license plate bracket.
Please do not mention anything of my spare or lack there of. This is not about my spare, or my choice to run without one.
I am so grateful I found this post. I was surfing the internet looking for ways to accomplish everything I did here. I found this post and had Andrew on the line at 9pm eastern time on a Sunday night within seconds.
Thank you so much FMF for the stickers, and time!

I installed my Solution Plate, and wired the third break light / marker light. It looks amazing. It is by far my favorite mod yet! I can not stop staring at it. When I finished hooking it up I turned on the parking lights to test it, when I saw it lit up I yelled out loud YESSSSSS

It's 9:00 PM on the East Coast and I called Full Metal Fabworks expecting to leave a message for them to call me tomorrow to order their Solution Plate, Tag 3rd break light, and license plate delete plug. To my surprise someone answered the phone and took my order. He took the time to explain how to hook up the light and said it will ship out tomorrow. I am so glad I found this post. I can not wait to receive the parts.
I know its a year late but welcome to the forum and thank you for coming.

Love it ! It was a breeze to install as well. I'm going to colour match the plugs and plate to the jeep once the weather warms a bit. Spot on kit though. Thanks loads

And for anyone else that is interested our Solution Plate is designed to work with both the horizontal and vertical vents on all JK models.

|_3m||Will this fit an 07 with the taller vent hole? I believe the o7- o9 models are 5 high x 2 wide later models have the 4 high x 3 wide vent openings.|

Another customer pic using our Solution Plate, Complete plug kit, and an ORO tag/3rd brake light. Thanks for the pic Tom. We have these in stock and ready to ship.

Stumbled in here by mistake. Can't quite get how the stock one is in a bad place, and they look kinda wimpy without the spare really, but hey, to each their own I guess.
Just goes to show there is always someone coming along to take someone else's money.

The wiring on the ORO liteDOT is not plug and play but is about as straight forward as a wiring job gets. It comes with 3 wires in a pre-made loom, a (+) for the tag light, (+) for the brake/running light, and a ground. To make the install as clean as possible we run them through the tailgate, behind the plastic cover (on the inside of the tailgate), through the factory cloth wiring loom by the hinge, and then splice into the passenger tail light harness so there are no visible wires inside or outside. If anyone is ever installing one of these, whether they purchased it from us or somewhere else, feel free to give us a call at (909)-792-9777 and we will walk you through over the phone as best we can.
Here is a review from a customer of ours that was hesitant but ended up buying the ORO tag/3rd brake light.
"I purchased the plate and LED light a couple of months ago and love it. I considered not buying the light, because I get a little intimidated with wiring of any kind, super glad I bought it though. The whole install probably took me a little over an hour. I took my time to make sure I made it look as clean as possible and so I wouldn't have to tear it back apart later. The best write-up I found was on jk-forum, I'll try to link it. The only other thing I can think you'd need to know is that you'll want a decent drill bit to to make a hole in the license plate holder. This will allow you to hide the wire that comes out of the led. On a side note, I was able to visit the shop and was really impressed with the style and quality of all of their products. The owner Andrew spent a great deal of time showing me around, pointing out details of their stuff, and answering a ton of my questions. Good people to do business with.
