RB-10rubicon I changed my wheels out

rnuover13 No. No parts missing. He's just jealous lol

vacca foeda I'd understand his point if you were going to something like 24's and low profile street tires, but just changing up your wheels is fine. It's your jeep, do what you want with it.

panthermark Your buddies argument does not make sense...but I think we are missing part of his argument or something.

All JK Sport S's and Rubi's come with 17" rims...so the rim size can't be his issue.
And blacks rims are so common on JK's, you would think that is IS stock.

Is he just giving you are hard time about how YOU use YOUR Rubicon? If so...screw him. But an argument about black 17" wheels making a JK Rubi less of a Rubi is non sequitur.

hannibal I have 17" black rims on mine and I think they're 100x better than the stock rims it came with.

sandnsaltwater Love my black 17" rims. I had the stock Sahara 18" rims and knew when I purchased it that I wanted simple black wheels.

vincejeep1 I have a 2010 Rubicon with Black Mamba Mr1s. How dose that change the usage if you get more offset you can go with a wider tire

panthermark Right...but the OP has a TJ.

In the JK world, 17" black rims are pretty common....and even standard on some JK's. (Moab, Arctic, 10A).

hair2831 His buddy is giving him crap about wanting to take off the Rubi wheels. I say who cares. If you want new rims, go for it! I'm not that fond of the stock wheels either, no matter what model Jeep it is. I think your buddy is just jealous. lol!
07-29-2013 12:03 PM
panthermark Kinda lost here. Are you referring to a specifi rim style? Rim size?
07-29-2013 12:02 PM
rnuover13 Well I told one of my other buddies who has a jeep that I wanted to get a new set of rims and he gave me crap about how I'm defeating the purpose of a Rubicon. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it is what I say and I called him a hater. He drives a 94.

Nashorn101 What's wrong with black rims? Black rims on black Jeeps look really good in my opinion.

Why 17" wheels though? To mount under the tires you already have?

I ask just because 15" wheels have a cheaper selection of tires to go with and if you get new rims, might as well get new tires? ....maybe a lift kit too? A new bumper too to go with? Or new lights...?
