Nah, I got the basic AC. No zone climate control. I did have the temp knob down all the way, and the fan on low. The AC light was off, but plenty of cold air. And cold air was off again after next engine restart... SMH.
Gremlins - LOL

LewdDude Had mine reset itself once so far.... All EQ settings were flat... and none of my HD tracks were there, but then they came back. I was scared that all the hours loading mp3/4's were lost!!!! just took a few minutes for them to be listed. Clock held it's time. The only thing I lost was the EQ settings... It didn't do it while I was listening to it though. I always have mine on and shut my car off with it on. I started my car as usual and noticed the radio didn't come on, and it was just the clock... Odd!!!

Scargosun I have the 430N in a '13 JKU and it reset itself it seems once since I have had it. It has not happened in about a month. I am sincerely hoping the Gremlins are out of there at this point.

BUT when I stopped at the store and shut it down, and restarted it afterwards, the A/C was off and working normally again (on when I turn it on, off when I turn it off). My fear is that if I have the fan off, or if the heat is on in the winter, I'd never know if the A/C system is on and hosing what little fuel economy I have!

I don't have the Message Center on my Sahara (don't know how I missed that when I picked it off the lot), so there was no place for me to see an informative message like that.

Thanks, and now I know

lysol Regarding the remote-start, make sure you have enough fuel. lol. That one got me in the wifes JGC... haha.

KittyPrawn I haven't had the full on issue where it won't come back like the rest of you have had, but my radio does turn off randomly and reset everything. I don't think it's a radio issue, honestly. I think that's just the easiest thing they can do to "fix it."

Jackyl71 Well I've almost moved from technical failure to demonic possession!
First it was the radio... Seems ok for now, but will still report it to the dealer to have a record of it.
Then I was messing around with the remote start (because it's new to me and fun, well to me anyhow), and it would flash the lights, lock the doors, and start up. But would only run for about 5 seconds. I think it did this twice yesterday. Tried it today, and it start and ran for a few minutes before I put the key in it. Now THIS could have been on me, because last night when I did it, I was low on fuel (under 40 miles DTE) when I tried, and filled it up since. Maybe this is an undocumented 'feature' so you don't run your Jeep out of gas while you aren't in it? (Or maybe it's documented and I didn't read it - that's happened before...)

I think I'm going to have to schedule a visit with the dealership for a diagnostic.

Or maybe my priest for and exorcism!

ChiefUSNRet99 I'm dealing with the same problem on my 2013 MOAB with the 430N. I got it to the dealer, there is no magic RESET, the unit needs to be replaced it's toast. It's getting ugly between the Dealer, MOPAR and myself. I've been down to them going on 4 trips now. They don't keep the damn Radio in Service Stock for starters. So you go in to get it corrected and they'll just tell you it's broke, we have to order.

In low light you should see the screen blink, because the operating system of the radio keeps trying to reboot and recover. I caught mine just right where I was able to use the steering wheel volume to get the sound turned off, otherwise it would just keep recycling, play my last select station for about a minute then cut out. None of the hard buttons work, nor the on/off volume knobs either.

Trip two, resulted in a Radio arriving from MOPAR all matched to the VIN#, they tear my dash apart, THEN open the damn box, to find out "Hey, this isn't the right radio"... needless to say... not happy.

Today, supposedly the radio is in, they call, I ask "are you sure it's the right radio?" They say yes, I drive the 80 mile round trip. Go into waiting room to read, then about 30 minutes in walks the Service guy, looking sheepish and worried... says "you're not going to believe this but....." we called you by mistake! No radio, we got a bulletin from MOPAR saying it's back ordered for yours with a "possible" ETA of 15 Aug... WTF!!!!

Now I'm pissed. Have sent poisen pen to Dealer Owner, telling him how much they owe me for 4 days of missed worked (counting future date), and $64.00 bucks in GAS for all trips. They cost me about $2400.00 in lost income or burned vacation hours. Told them I want them to hunt down the radio from another Jeep Dealer, Overnight it. Get my problem fixed; and that they should include the 10K service package, a tank of gas, and a washing at NO COST to me to make amends for this nightmare.

We'll see what happens in the next day or two. If they don't give me something in compensation for this BS, I am then going to go on a negative AD campaign and will post the Dealership and it's addresses for ALL. Then go slam them on the Dealer Rate site.

Drafting letter to MOPAR as well, because this isn't only the Dealers fault. The service guy told me he's heard that is about a 1 in 100 failure rate... SAY WHAT! That is wholly unacceptable, and this "Ship it, when I need it" supply chain process of MOPARS instead of carrying a local stock of replacements is BS and crappy customer care. Especially, if it's a 1/100 failure ratio.

My 84 CJ8, and 96 Cherokee never had failures, only the normal wear out of things like breaks, joints, water pumps.. drove the fenders off that CJ8.

So here is the story... My duaghter and I were geocaching last night, and rolling from place to place, listening to the radio and running the NAV. We hopped out at one park and went searched out the cache. When we returned, I started up my JKU and my head unit was off. "Odd", I thought because I didn't turn it off before we got out. I pressed the power button and nothing - no sound, no lights, no screen. So I shut my Jeep back off, gave it a few seconds, then restarted it. Same results - no sound, no lights, no screen. "FUDGE!" But I didn't say fudge. I said THE word. the F--- word... (lol)

So resigning that I couldn't do anything with it at a park 10 miles from home, we went about our business heading to the next cache. Along the way, the radio would come on and play for about 15 seconds, then go silent again for a few minutes, then play, then silent... Still no lights or screen. Got to our destination, shut down, collected our cache, and returned maybe 10 minutes later.

This time when I started up, everthing powered up just like there was never anything wrong. Screen came up right away, sounds was fine, all the controls and NAV worked.

Has anyone had their 430N head units lose their mind on them, and later find it again (reboot?)? Is this a common problem? Or something I should be concerned about?
There is a major problem with the '13 and pre-MY Grand Cherokees running the 730N. I've had it happen once on our '13. The fix for some people is it just comes back after the engine is off for a while(couple hours?). This one was our fix. Just went into Target quick, came back out, and it just worked again. Another fix was to disconnect the battery for a few hours. The last fix was to get a new one from the dealer. lol. Don't know if this pertains to you, but it's close.
