vajeeper1 Im very impressed, heavy, appears to be approx. 1/4 plate, bolted right up, very heavy duty, the shackle mounts are welded all the way through, its is open backed with supports welded in. the welds are pretty thick, but not as pretty as the ones on my rear bulletproof bumper, you get what you pay for there, it does not come powder coated but painted, and the paint was popping off the inside back of mine when I got it, I had to knock the loose stuff off and shoot some rustoleum back there before I mounted it up yesterday.

valentine1210 To all you guys who have this bumper? How is it? Like does it feel strong? How's the welds?
Thank You

vajeeper1 I just got this bumper as well, first front bumper for the TJ ever! ive run the stock one since the day I bought it brand new in 99. I am tickled to death with this new bumper, and for 189.00 bucks, I love it. now to save up for the winch.

That looks pretty sweet.

I've been looking for pretty much the exact same thing. Where did you order it from - and who is the bumper manufacturer?

aikmanson Looking at this bumper, what winch plate did you use to mount your warn, and do you have a link to where to buy one?

Thanks, looks good!

Neal5280 Not sure, it didn't come wrapped nor did it include any sort of wrap... Wouldn't think they'd be different but wonder if they packaged it different because yours is synthetic...

What a change it was nice on Saturday and yesterday we go about 10 inches of snow.

Neal5280 Install went smooth this morning. Thanks for your pointers, it made it go better than it could have! Even snagged a Hummer after the install

3. Attach winch to winch plate
4 Attach winch plate with winch to the bumper

-Make sure your winch plate lines up with your bumper before you mount your winch to it. I had to grind off two tabs that were interfering with mine.
-Make sure you install all lock washers solenoid covers BEFORE you tighten everything down.
-Read the directions 3 times before beginning the install.
-Make sure you have plenty of space (and a decent pair of leather gloves) when laying out the cable and getting it snugged up.

The mistakes I made were careless not paying attention mistakes, but it was my first winch install and I think it went pretty well all things considered.

Under $200 before shipping, but it does not have an integrated winch plate, so plan on springing for one of them if you're going to run a winch. Check out 4x4groupbuy, they had the best deal on them.

Thanks! Still have those 3" springs kicking around???

How much does the bulldog bumper weigh? Did you get the synthetic cable or steel?
Didn't weigh the bumper, so I can't throw a number at it... It weighed more than the stock (obviously) but its a stubby, so I could easily pick it up myself and move it around. I went with the synthetic line.

Bulldog front bumper and Warn installed

Finally got my bulldog bumper and warn VR-8000s all set up . Looooove the look and the winch is awesome. The bumper install was a piece of cake, the winch install was a PITA mainly because I did it myself and a second set of hands would have come in VERY handy.

As you can see in my second picture, I now have a pretty aggressive rake going. I'm running a 2" BB and was wondering how to level her out a little bit. Think 3" coils would do the trick? I'm looking at doing a 4" SL down the road, so I might just hold off until then and live with it.

Let me know what you think
