Owen_TJ You could also try some bug/tar remover...i use the "stoner" brand when i have tar and stuff all over.

Few weeks ago they were doing road construction on a street i take to work...it had rained and i have no fenders...so, couple days later i went to wash it and NOTHING came off. It was almost as if my red jeep had turned black. About an hour or so of bug/tar remover and it was gone. Just rewashed it and good as new.

Redsand Laundry soap and water in a bucket, and a soft brush or a bug sponge

Rubicondon53 My old soft top had stains, and my new one also has mud stains.. After a few tries with car wash soap and using a soft bristle brush, most of the stains remained, but not too noticeable as I chose the khaki color for my jeep knowing such dirt and stains would blend in nicely.. I wouldn't use any chemicals unless calling Bestop first and find out what type of chemicals will not hurt your top.. They have a great tech crew standing by to answer all questions...

JDsDream If you find a solution to take it out, please post. I've never found a way to get rid of it.

MrTurtle Have you tried using a pressure washer? Maybe with the right chemicals you could probably find at your local Advance Auto or something, an interior or soft top cleaner, and then stop by one of those ' self - serve ' car wash places with the brush and the high pressure jet you could work the stains out.

Help please!

I went to a dirt track race Saturday night. If you've ever been to one you know your vehicle leaves covered in dust. Anyway I drove my jeep, with the windows out of the half doors and the top up. I never had time to wash it yesterday but today I tried to wash it and the red clay stains would not come clean. Any suggestions on how to clean it and what to use? I tried the bestop top cleaner but it didn't seem to phase it.
