Depends on your local shop rates.
But 2 sets of gears, 2 install kits, labor and fluids, $1000 to $1500 is normal.

35" tires are best with 4.88 gears for manual and 5.13 for autotrans.

|4Jeepn||Going from 3.21 to 3.73 is not enough of a change.. I would say 4.10's or there about's would be a good staring point. It would offer a good mix between highway, offer a bit of help towing. If you plan to run bigger tires down the line then 4.56's would be best from a $$ stand point as the cost to do gears is not cheap.|

Are you going to want bigger tires? Be honest with yourself...
285/70-17 tires and 4.56 gears with a manual trans would be sweet.

Which Gear Ratio
I've read most of the threads related to gearing questions, but I haven't found any that answer some questions I have.
I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited with a 6 speed tranny. stock 265/75/17 tires. and the horrible 3.21 gear ratio.
I'm not a hard core off roader,My jeep is on asphalt 95% of the time. I use my 4 wheel drive mostly at the beach, or on snow covered roads.
I would like to improve my towing capability while maintaining the ability to travel with traffic on the highway (70-75 mph).
Would a 3.73 gear work for me, or would I better off with a lower ratio possibly a 4.56? I was thinking of going to a something around 4.10, but haven't found anything close that that ratio in the aftermarket.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
