jameslee97206 After the 11/18 run I got my front drive shaft retubed at Driveline service of Portland. They did an excellent job. I got around to putting it under the Jeep today and snapped a bolt off the front yoke time to drill it out and use a u bolt.

No plans to meet in Beaverton. Last year no one from the Oregon area could find a venue to meet. We had people offer to help but no one was available to organize and run the meetings in Oregon.

5:30 pm to 6:00 pm; Meeting.
6:00 pm to 7:30 pm; Mingle, eat pizza, talk to members.

Leonardo's Pizzeria
16505 SE 1st Street
Vancouver, Washington 98684

Bring a new, used, or old item to raffle off.

We need to talk about the direction this group is going.

I'll talk about the the Jeep Jamboree in the Tillamook State Forest in June 11-13, 2015.

I'll be starting a list of interested individuals who may have an interest in trail guiding for the Jamboree. I'll need a list of 20-25. I'll only need 16-20 trail guides guides but you always need back up guides.

Irish-n-Zwack Hi. Native Oregonian, here. Central Oregon Coast. Born and raised in the Coast Range (St. Helens, then Vernonia), spent 20 years in NE Oregon in the Grande Ronde Valley, then 13 years in Portland, before moving here to Lincoln City 2 years ago.

Some of my very fondest memories are of going to the Jeep Races in Starkey with my mother, (step)father, and siblings. Drag races (1/4 mile) on a packed dirt track, and mud bog races right next to the drag strip. My (step)dad bought and built old Jeeps (CJs and Willys). He'd work on and race one for a few years until it was a consistent winner, then he'd sell it and buy a new one to work on. His last one, "The Bad Example" (with appropriate custom paint job :-) ), is a Willys. My niece inherited it upon his death 3 Christmases ago, so it has stayed in the family. Those happy times in my 20s and early 30s are when I learned to love Jeeps. I must say, I'm happy to see so many fellow Oregonians, here. I have to wonder if any of you ever attended those races in Starkey, way back (I have no clue if they're even still held--my dad stopped racing when my mother told him that the hobby was too expensive to continue)?

Anyway, I'm glad I found this forum, and this sub-group :-).

Thanks guys! We went out there for the first time last weekend. At first we couldn't find anything but boring gravel trails, and were just about to give up on the place when we finally found something fun Cannot wait to get back out there!
