Lando25 1) thoroughly cleaning and detailing the underside.
2) rotating tires
3) taking your windshield down for inspection.

PStov98TJ 1) Greasing things like trackbars, tie rod ends, drag link, etc.
2) Suspension/steering torque specs
3) Checking and changing fluids other than engine oil. For some reason, everyone talks about learning how to change the engine oil, but what about diffs, t-case, trans?

For some reason, some people don't realize that just about every mechanical part on a car requires oil or grease to function. And I think alot of people neglect even checking them to see if they're contaminated or old and needs changing.

GoldenSahara00 1. check all steering/suspension bolt for torque - people are lazy and there's a lot

2. ALL fluid check/changes - people don't know how to do tcase, trans, etc or too lazy

3. Stuff like change ball joints on knuckles/steering when they get worn out. - people don't know or realize.

I'd say something like checking tire pressure, brake fluid/coolant etc is stuff that gets skipped over a bit too.

Honestly I don't do all this stuff regularly but I always have an idea of where everything is just from working on around it and checking it at random times.

Big Sarge Answers to this will vary. Greatly vary based on a few things. 1. Location in the world
2. What the Jeep is used for
3. What you and others consider "routine"

My PO didn't even rotate tires but claimed to have performed routine maintenance regularly.

What are we missing??

My question to you forum members is this.... What do most TJ owners miss, or put off during routine maintenance? Give us a top 3, and explain.
