|tlrrob1000||You live in Florida so the Temperature ithere stays pretty mild right? Like here in so cal you can run straight 30 wt. Especially if you have high miles. Unless plan on going to cold climates.|

|Ericl||Get 1 gallon of coolant. Mix that up with distilled water so its 50/50. Fill radiator to the top. Then run idle with the radiator lid off. Fill all the way back to the top and there should be a little leftover for the overfill tank. I added some additional distilled water to the overfill tank. My final mix was around 60antifreeze/40distilled water, just make sure not to go over any part 75%|

|jasaus||if your jeep has AC, buy a swivel joint/ u joint extention to get on to the number one cyl spark plug. the AC compressor will be in the way if you don't have the u joint.. and you might think about the raditor flush fluid that prestone makes..|

Oh my bad as for coolant I've always used the garden hose trick. Make sure the engines not super hot, On the bottom of the radiator should be a plug open it and drain your coolant into a pan, leave the plug open and put the garden hose into the radiator filler with it running slighty(let the radiator fill with water completely) start her up and let run for 5 minutes, then shut her down, turn off the water and let it drain, put the radiator plug back in and fill with coolant.
Or you can just use the drain and fill method unless the coolant is super dirty.

|adawg38||ha ha I am tuning my 06 2.4l also just started. Mine took 5qts even of oil and I always use reccommended on the cap so if it says 5w30 use it but at least start with 4qts and work your way up every engine is always different. As for spark plugs he's right always check gap and do one plug/wire at a time so you don't get em switched and wonder why your jeeps not running right.|

Do you have your owners manual? It should have everything you need. Make sure you are using 50/50 mix of coolant and (distilled is preferred) water, and always double check the gap of the spark plugs even though the store says they come pre-gapped.
Go slow and take your time.

first full tune-up......help
i am doing my first full tune up on my jeep (plugs, wires, air filter, oil, coolant) , i was just wondering if anyone has got any advice for me before i dive in.... i know on the 2.4l engines the plugs are a little difficult to get to but no big deal, the biggest thing i might have trouble with is replacing the coolant, any easy tricks i should know about lol , and also how many qts does the engine need and what weight is the best for it (in Florida), i bought 5 qts on Valvoline's synthetic blend high mileage 5w-30..... is that okay or should i get a different weight?
