itīs only for the next 3-4 weeks (if my axle shaft or u-joint will break) until I can afford chromoly axles.
iīm in an offroad park this weekend and want to have a backup axle shaft to come home.

|Jerry Bransford||Depending on when the XJ shaft was made, it may use the smaller/weaker Spicer 260 u-joints instead of the larger Spicer 297 u-joints used in '95 and newer Wranglers.|

|jpdocdave||you can use it. if your jeep is the one with abs, your light will come on most likely. sometimes you can tap the tone ring off the one axle and put it on the other one. worth a try.|

Left Front Axle Shaft From A XJ ???s
Does a XJ axle shaft fit into my 06 TJ? It looks the same and has the same length.
But it doesnīt have this "ABS Ring" on it. Can I use my old one?
At the outer shaft a hole (where the u-joint bearing cap is attached) is worn out (the bearing cap is still ok) and there is a little play in it. Itīs only a bit, but it makes a "knock, knock, knock" noise when I accellerate with full thottle.
A buddy could give me a complete left axle shaft (pic below) from his XJ for free..
