gunmn74 The first click they heard would not be the seat belt. It might sound
similar to a hammer on a 1911.

ilikeguns I was driving to the beach on Saturday with my wife and a friend who was out from LA. Some asshole guys pulled up in BMW at a stop light and started trying to talk to the girls. After not getting the response they had hoped for I hear a car door open (theirs) and one of the guys got out. Traffic was too heavy for me to pull forward so my only choice was to grab a (pitifully small) knife i had.

Thankfully once he got close to the jeep he noticed a baby seat next to my wife and that seemed to deflate the young punk's boner and he got back into the car. He yelled over.. "sorry i didn't see you had a baby in there.." and I held up two fingers (my other daughter was in the car as well).

Long story short.. will not make that mistake again.. top down with the family in the car is a CCW situation.. even in the hoity toity areas..

Now thats a cool holster. I think its a ambi leg holster from amazon, with a custom made mount. Btw, thats a springfield xd. m&p9 doesnt have a striker indicator, or a grip safety.
Found that mount here.

What kind of harness is that you have for him? Need one for my Pit when he is in the TJ.

HRPinDC When I took my YJ to the beach in the early 90s this would happen a lot. Sitting at a light, people would just get in. I didn't mind it was usually in fun and I met some very hot girls this way.

AlexaMorgan Exactly the right idea!

Trek7.2FX If someone jumped in my Jeep I would start charging them a hefty fare.

Jeeps_and_Boats I had some dude jump into the back of my convertible back in the early 80's in Philadelphia. I had one of those souvenir bats handy, and he jumped out as fast as he hopped in. Sure got the adrenaline going.

I'm not sure about the gun thing, but as earlier posted that's more of a topic for a politics thread.

Having a 5yo in the back seat would amp up the volume to the sky, so if some person, jumps in now I would go full freak.

Do not test me.

I can see both sides of that scenario (also potentially as a resident in that area)

Good point^*

In fact, I was camping last weekend. We took off for some adventure and returned after dark to see our campsite overtaken. At first we were upset, then went down to the creek to greet the invaders- they were friendly, funny, played music, and offered us beer from the local brewery! We had a great night and made some new local friends! Plus they had a dog for my dog to play with. I left my Kimber 1911 SCC , and my attitude at home.

What about peper spray or even hair spray or wasp spray. Wasp spray has one hell of a reach and you don't want that in your eyes.

a rifle and pistol are 2 completely different things tho
God bless Texas. Got pulled over in the fall coming back from a day of shooting with the family and had 3 rifles and two shotguns laying in the back on top of the folded down seats. Also had 3 pistols siting in th passengers seat. Told the trooper about it, he just asked me to step out, and wrote me a warning while I waited beside his car. He never touched the first gun and never asked me anything else about them after I explained what I was doing with all of the in there at once.

Sounds like you are one of those people who are afraid of cops? If you treat them with respect then you won't have a problem.

I will be damned if I didn't cary protection because I was afraid that I might piss off a cop.

Not the most ideal spot, if you have to draw you will be crossing your waist/legs with the muzzle.
