badrubi03 ok, got ya, im up to date now. so anything 2000 and newer that i find, if it has a manual, it will have wat i need?
07-29-2009 08:10 PM
distortedtj Neither... The NV3550 is just that ...a NV3550. The AX5 was used in older 4cyl's and the AX15 was used in older "99" and older 6cyl.

The NV3550 replaced the AX-15 in the wrangler model.

badrubi03 i will, the 3550 is the ax 5 or 15?

distortedtj Roger, Good luck with the parts jeep hunt.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

badrubi03 thats why we are gonna find a whole jeep to put beside mine and swap everything over.

distortedtj I'd personlly get a whole new clutch kit and flywheel. Can you reuse one off of a donor ..sure as long as it aint fubar'd.

Also remember there are alot more items to go along with it. Not just slapping the manual trans in and going. You'll need a clutch pedal assembly. Slave cylinder, master cylinder and more.

badrubi03 and thats prolly what i will find, the 00 to 04 anyway. be cheaper too ha.

wat should i replace off the donor if it aint got a bunch of miles and stuff?
07-29-2009 07:26 PM
badrubi03 thanks man, that helps alot. i didnt figure i would be soo lucky to use somethin older then my truck. if i find soemthin i should prolly go ahead and replace the clutch assembly with the throwout bearing shouldnt i?

distortedtj NV3550 - 2000-2004

* 10 spline input
* 23 spline output
* Ratios:
1st - 4.01
2nd - 2.33
3rd - 1.39
4th - 1.00
5th - 0.78
Rev - 3.57

NSG370 - 2005-2006
* 6 speed manual
* Used with both 4 cyl and 6 cyl models
* 10 spline input
* 23 spline output
* Ratios:

distortedtj 42rle - 2003-2006
4 speed automatic
Used with both 4 cyl and 6 cyl models TJ's and LJ's.

It does not have to be a rubicon model. The transmission are the same in a rubi as the normal TJ or LJ.
