Just found this thread. I just purchased this kit and now having second thoughts on installing after reading this thread. I have bumpers and a winch and was looking for a little lift and this seemed to be a good option, but after reading this I'm now having second thoughts.
Now if I do decide to use this is there any other items that are a must? One in particular is an adjustable track bar, should I get one? Adjustable CA's, are they necessary?

Here's my 2 cents ...
Teraflex Performance Leveling Kit with Bilstein HD Shocks for 0-2" lift, and Steering Damper
285/70-17 Firestone Destination MT on Procomp 1069 w/4.75" backspace
I think it's a perfect combination. Smooth ride, improved handling, better control on forest roads .. Haven't done any heavy wheeling yet but speed bumps are no match!
This was a strippo Sport with steel wheels. I got a solid 2" in the front and 1" in the back.

RANT COMING...DW stuck again this morning on the way to work. Same place on the road where it first occurred. 3 times in 10 days. After the PLK, LCA's and Monster TB installation, two alignments, 3 wheels rebalanced I still have the DW problem. (Hey at least the caster is right). Obviously something else is wrong. Tie rod ends, ball joints. Could it be bad OEM pizza tires (20K miles on them) triggering it?
Spoke with Adams Jeep...great reputation per Maryland Jeepers. It's where I should have gone in the first place for the lift work but it's a haul from my house. Dropping it off on Monday for the day to have them go over it.
Any other ideas?

|JKFiNk||Just got my TF Kit. So excited to get this baby on. Also found a cheap set of Rubi take offs to accompany the kit. Only problem is they're calling for rain on Sunday. I need to put the box out of sight if I can't install this weekend. It's calling... haha|

Update: Got the TF LCA's and Monster TB installed today. Caster back in spec to 4.5* and alignment is perfect. 3 of 4 tires were out of balance (19K miles on OEM tires) and steering stabilizer not tightened to spec. All else on the front end checked out. Mechanic test driving now. Will Need to drive it a bit to provide additional feedback.
Once I am ready for wheels and tires, going to upgrade the UCA's as well.

|jadmt||Stock will be fine. Down the road keep your eyes open for some Rubicon take offs or a deal on Ranchos or Bilstiens etc. One thing I wish I had done is put a 1/2" rear spacer in while I was at it because my rear sagged 1/2" already. You may not have that issue but I do. Other then that it is well worth doing it. You will appreciate the better handling and looks.|

|jeff89||I'm getting ready to install this kit on a 2014 JKU sport, but am having second thoughts after reading through this. All I have right now is the TF perf leveling kit 1.5"...do I need to get some new shocks to have ready for the install as well? Or are stock shocks okay to run with this kit?|

After reading a bunch more, I decided to also install a Teraflex Monster Adjustable Front Track Bar and 9/16" front-end bolt kit in addition to the TF LCA's. All of the parts will arrive by 9/16 with the install being done on 9/19.
Provided there are no other worn front-end components and every front end bolt is torqued to spec, this should resolve my low caster and my only occurence to date of DW as well as prepare my Jeep for new wheels and larger tires.
Will let you know how it goes...

|jmartinb||KJ, yes that appears to be exactly what I experienced. It felt like the entire Jeep was shaking and about to fall apart. It was not a front end shimmy. The entire vehicle was involved and didn't stop until I stopped the Jeep. I then got back onto the highway without further DW.|

|TwoNin9r||This might be the perfect option for my 2door since my parking garage at work is 6'6",and my jeep sits about 6'2.5" with just the 285/75 terra grapplers. I wish I could verify the actual hight of all the lifts :-(|

Just because you can't move by hand does not mean its not the problem.
The real question should be. Did you experience DW ..... real DW like this ?

I put on my gym clothes and went out in this 95 degree heat to bench press a track bar. Either I have to relinquish my man card or that bar ain't moving. Pulled, pushed and then tried like hell to press it. No dice. It did not move. Likewise I could not further tighten the bolts. Yes, I checked to make sure I was trying to move the correct bar. :-)
At this point, I think we can rule out the track bar or my 6'5" 250 lb rear end better get to the gym pronto.

Question on this leveling kit.
I'll be installing it on Sunday. The box that it came in has a sticker on it that states that I should be installing spacer's as well if I am sticking with stock wheels. I will have my stock wheels and tires for another week approximately. Then I will be moving "up" to 33" Duratracs with Level 8 trackers with 3.32" backspacing.
Do I need to worry about these spacers they suggest for the period of a week that I'll have the leveling kit on and stock wheels and tires?

I agree KJ and I apologize to the OP. My intent was not to hijack the thread as I was initially asking about the variance in the lift height and the caster issue on my Jeep post lift installation.
The DW issue only raised it ugly head yesterday, 5 days after the lift was installed.
I just went out to check the trackbar bolts. Both ends, I could not shoulder those bolts any tighter.
As for the lift itself, I'll review it once I get these other issues straightened out.

|keycat02||I had dw about 3 months after installing this kit. Replaced the steering stabilizer on the recommendation of the installer, then had dw reoccur a couple of months later. I went through planmans writeup and noticed obvious movement in the stock trackbar and lca bolts. I decided to add a jks trackbar, shouldered bolts on lcas and trackbar, and an ome steering stabilizer. No dw for one year now.|

Sounds good. I just think it wouldn't hurt to just go and throw a wrench on the track bar bolts,

To summarize, low caster will not cause DW not will it cause abnormal tire wear. It can cause handling issues and thus I want it corrected. If it means adjustable LCA's to fix it the right way (instead of cam bolts) for the longevity of my Jeep, so be it. An unbudgeted expense but worth it.
As for the DW, once the LCA's are installed (scheduled for 9/19) the entire front end will be re-inspected and then every nut and bolt tightened to spec. Then another alignment to ensure the caster issue has been resolved. Sound like a reasonable approach?
FYI...since the DW episode yesterday morning, it has not recurred regardless of road type, bump or speed. Is this normal DW behavior? Can folks make it happen or is this a random thing?
