HK_Runner Mine is in the spare living room with stuff on it. I should put it back in but I always have to take it out on long trips. I'm keeping it for when I sell or trade.

Martin10 Mine is in my crawl space covered with plastic. I have a conditioned crawl space so no dirt. I took it out the day I purchased my Jeep. That back seat is absolutely worthless in my opinion. I cannot imagine any adult trying to get in the back seat and it would not be easy even for kids. Plus you have no cargo room with it in. But like others have said, dont get rid of it. If you ever sell or trade in the jeep you will regret it.

coelement777 I have a loft in my place that it will fit perfectly in. As soon as I can get someone to help me get it up there that's where it is going. do you have kids? It would make a great seat for a kids room. I won't be selling mine, on the off chance I trade it for a new one at some point in the future I don't want to take a hit when I sell it.

bfschor Heck, I think I'm gonna sell mine! I'll never use it and I don't buy vehicles with the thought of trading in anyway. I buy for me, not the next guy.

Well, I guess the question of what cool things to do with the rear seat has been answered! Sell it and buy something cooler!!!

Sueby F that - I'm selling mine. I will never trade it in & will never put that seat back in.

from a dealership a brand new unused seat would be a lot more.

just look on ebay, the 4 door back seat is $150-300, the JK 2 door back seat is $900-1300. they know why people want them!

Afmcronnie I pulled mine the first week I owned my 2012. It sat in the garage for 15 months. I only put it back in once for 1 afternoon. Had it covered with a tarp, no tornadoes, so it didnt get used. I traded the 12 for a 13 Unlimited, forgot the seat was missing. It was the first thing the dealer asked me about. "Where's the seat?" I had to go home and put it in before we closed. It was still pristine. I was surprised how much the front seats faded after only 1 yr.

bfschor I don't think I want to sell the seat or the Jeep. I'll never put it back in the Jeep simply because I just have no use for that many seats and I'd feel bad for anyone having to sit back there.

I was hoping for some really creative ideas. It's a really nice seat with a lot of potential!!

This.

I pulled mine out for an upcoming trip this weekend and am loving the new visibility and storage room. I don't want to put it back in, so it's time to dream up a way to store it out in my shop on top of a steel rack that I have to keep it pristine.

BacaraJKU Sell it to me cheap so I can add third row to my Unlimited.
08-26-2013 01:34 PM
donmeca2020 do exactly as you said get something to sit it on and actually use it... not sure about indoor use, considering it'll sit low, but what about in your garage or backyard patio area? possibly throw some cinder blocks under it with a flat sheet of wood and call it a day...

Or get a stand professionally made or have a friend with handyman knowledge to help and try and set it up somewhere in your home.

Or to the top of the roll bar for a safari style hunting, just watch out for low hanging limbs.

uhfive In my old TJ I pulled the back seat and put it in the garage next to the ping pong table for a seat. It was a little inconient having it sit so low and I always though about building a stand for it to sit on...I am not that handy though. The seat from the new JK is in my spare bedroom covered in a blanket. I am still dreaming that I can find someone to make a frame I can put it on and have a nice benchseat in the mancave.

HAFICON Put it back in.. *L* Back when I had my YJ I pulled the rear seat out and kept it in my bed room for my German Shepard. Also just for sitting around in..
08-25-2013 12:16 PM
bfschor Prob a little heavy for them to carry around.

Crush21 Donate it to a homeless guy.

bfschor Ok, I removed my rear seat as soon as I drove home from the dealer. It sits in a spare bedroom collecting dust.

I was just thinking, should I build a platform for it and turn it into something I would enjoy sitting on in the house for maybe the game room? Or even a nice "couch" for out in the garage? Maybe build a deer blind to put it in? It's really a nice seat and I hate just seeing it sit there and not being used.

What are some ideas you guys have come up with to do with your rear seat after you've removed it?
