My other car
My other car is a Jeep Liberty which gets 16-18mpg, maybe 24mpg on the highway. So I knew what I was getting into with another jeep.
I could have bought a car shaped like a teardrop, that would slide on ice, get stuck in mud and increase my smugness. Not enough torque or acceleration.
I love my refrigerator on wheels and I certainly don't need a higher smugness level

|Sb5551||I get 14.5 with 35's and 3.55s in the rear.|

Sort of like making an alcoholic move to Utah.
The pictures are nice.

|sirphipps||Wow... I get 15 on a good day. 06 unlimited 4.0.... It could still be breaking in... It only has 3k on it with factory 30's|

|chewy||i don't feel so bad, i'm getting 17-18 mpg, running 31"s and a 2" lift. i thought i was getting bad mileage.|

Its a jeep.
I get like 13 mpg at best and only run 31's

12mpg? You might have a serious problem, I am getting 18 all the time....

|filthy jeep||Yeah it was lifted with 2.5 in coils in the front and spacers in the back. It was scary. I kept looking at the hood and front fenders shaking thinking something is gonna give.|

|njkeagle||96mph? That would have been pretty scary. Lifted?|

|filthy jeep||Ha Ha! thats a funny picture. I got my TJ up to 96mph downhill. I thought my whole front end was gonna rip off and blow away. You can really feel the wind force pushing on the grill. I had a gps unit and just was curious to see what it would do pegged out. Not doing that ever again|

|350chevrolet||i saw a pic one time comparing the aerodynamics of a wrangler to that of a fridge with wheels, the fridge won lol. i almost never go over 50 in my heep so i dont think aerodynamics mean much. i think i get bad mileage because i need new o2 sensors and probably a cat.|

Bad Gas Mileage / Drives like a Brick
I just found some funny pictures of the aerodynamics of a car vs the aerodynamics of a jeep wrangler.
This might explain the 12 mpg that I get in my 97 TJ.
I still choose a wrangler.
